When it says that Jesus is coming to bring a sword, does it mean he is going to bust out some badass moves like Uma Thurman in Kill Bill, or is he just bringing it along for looks.

There were some essenic writings I've read about and that it says Jesus is associated with a group called the essenes. (btw - they're the ones that wrote the dead sea scrolls that were recently discovered). Accordingly this group is also proficient (at least some of them) at martial arts. Some members mentioned in the bible are masters - Peter for example.
So I imagine Jesus must have studied martial arts as well, as he has studied a lot of things during his short life. He will be way better than those we see in the movies since he will be using sword and magic at the same time. LOL

The Bible does not tell us, we know he was excellent with a whip since he used it to clear the Temple.

John 2:15
And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables;

In spite of the propaganda about "sword" being spiritual the swords Jesus told his followers to carry were real.

Luke 22:36Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one. 37For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end. 38And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.

Matthew 26:51
And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear.

Mark 14:47
And one of them that stood by drew a sword, and smote a servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.

John 18:10
Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus.

Scripture does not tell us if Jesus carried a sword. We know from Luke that two of the group did, Peter and someone else. Christ? Maybe. Scripture does not say.

Traditionally it was believed that Christ had carried a sword and this is one of the reasons many Christian Priests became Knights, but, there is no scriptural evidence to support that idea.

There is also none against it.

PS: Go get a melon and stick a plastic ear on the melon. Cut off the ear without cutting the melon. As a martial artist I know it is more difficult than it looks on TV.

Jesus thought he was a bit of a goer in the sword fighting department. In Luke 22:38 when the disciples brought two swords for use against those who were going to arrest him, Jesus said "That is enough."

Like what the guardian Angels are doing, based on Angel myths and Bible; they carry swords not to kill but to defend themselves, moreover these angels are fighting to the benefit of all in the Kingdom of Paradise in which as stated Jesus will go down and bring a sword but not kill, but to put an end to the eternal darkness that passes to all his creation. It is also stated that the sword was never used but it possesses a shining bright white light that will remove the darkness and bring light after the end of the world. This will start a new chapter in the life of all humans.

The sword is not literal but is information about Almighty god's planned Kingdom, of which Jesus HAS beedn crowned the King.
That is what Jesus was sent to preach.

(DANIEL 2:44) “And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite;

also, the 'idea' of a sword dividing applies to those people who will be in two distinct groups.
Those who obey Jesus and those who don't.

Sometimes these ones can be from the same family group.

Brother will oppose brother.

(MATTHEW 10:34) Do not think I came to put peace upon the earth; I came to put, not peace, but a sword.

Jesus knew his preaching would cause divisions.

He has a sword like Cloud off of FF7.

For looks and bad *** moves.

Whether he knows how to use it is debatable.

You obviously don't have a life. What a loser you are by thinking that bashing Jesus will make you look cool. Find something more productive to do with your time that might make the world a better place.
