It looks like atheism or any other secular thought in Western world is dominated exclusively by hardcore leftists, whom I despise with passion. I wonder if conservative/libertarian atheists are going to be politically active any soon. Or we will be suffocated to death by either secular left or religious right?

I'm a conservative atheist, and my movement is alive and growing stronger. The truth shall set us free.

Um, the Brights circulate did no longer precisely take off interior the freethought community all that nicely. maximum atheist companies, like American Atheists, Atheist Alliance, Freedom from faith commencing place, Council for Secular Humanism, etc. are extra of political advocacy communities fairly than social companies. maximum youthful atheists at the instant are not even becoming a member of those communities. For social shops, some atheists have joined the extra atheist-friendly Unitarian Universalist congregations, ethical subculture societies (whether they look extra of an East Coast concern), or the Church of Freethought (in Texas) it fairly is explicitly for atheists. Others, who're extra eco-unsleeping and nature-minded, are interested in naturalistic pantheism (it fairly is certainly nicely matched with atheism) and connect such communities because of the fact the international Pantheist circulate or the usually used Pantheist Society. A small few would be interested in the dark, anti-Christian imagery of the Church of devil (or suitable LaVeyan Satanist communities which additionally are atheistic).

I beg to differ on Ron Paul. He is Pro-Birth, among other extremist Christian views. Ron Paul's appeal to many is his anti-war stance. He'll soon be crushed by the machinery of the Yellow Elephants, anyway. You'll have to choose between Rudy, Mittie and Mikey.

Google Larry Darby to see the last atheist/libertarian candidate and Holocaust denier who ran for AG of Alabama. He hangs out with the White Pride gang, too, last I heard.

And go on despising. As long as there is free thought, there will be all sorts of free thinkers, including the teens who find Objectivism appealing and wind up raising rats in their basement as an anarcho-capitalist conservative.

I, in turn, despise intransigent know-it-all Straussians such as you.

I find it an interesting observation that people that say things like this are, for the most part though not always, hard-core right-wing religious zealots.

Also, if you think a minority of 10% (atheists) is going to "suffocate" a majority of 90% (religious)...you need some help with math.

I'm a conservative atheist. My dad told me that I'm not a true conservative because I am an atheist. I responded by telling him that atheists are more conservative than the religious. I doubt people believed in God 100,000 years ago. He didn't have a response to that.

The world is diverse with many different beliefs. You feel smothered because you have no tolerance for anyone who thinks differently than you and that is what is suffocating you-hatred rooted on intolerance.

left/right is just stereotyping, most people agree with some of one side and some of the other. I don't see why people should be lumped as one or the other as few actually fit the mold.

Why is the left always presented in such a negative way?

Is it because Hitler was a leftwing Socialist?

Is that it?

Is that what you are getting at?

Well Buddy, let me tell you!

Adolf is nobodies baby now!

I'm an atheist and a liberal -- in the European sense, which places me firmly in the center of the political spectrum.
