There is DOMA = "Defense of Marriage Act" passed under Clinton's administration. How does allowing states NOT to recognize a binding contract from another state protect marriage?

And there are all these "Definition of Marriage" amendments to "protect" marriage.
I'd like to ask: "How can my marrying my same sex partner imperil YOUR marriage? Or anyone’s future marriage? What exactly needs protection? And from what? Heck -- I want to STRENGTHEN the ideal of marriage by participating in it!

And how about social justice? Should I not be treated under the law the same as others? And be able to

Many express the view that this is against the Bible, or this is not what marriage means, etc. Good -- that’s your opinion and are entitled to it. But can you ANSWER MY QUESTIONS? How is my marrying my partner imperiling marriage?

I want to be married, not "civil unioned"-- which to me is an insult. I want the same regard and dignity to be attached to my relationship. However, can

God is just used as a source of comfort to those who are about to die and for their families to make their deaths easier and people in ancient Mesopotamia invented the concept of God to answer their questions as to why their crops were not growing right in the summer, etc.

Evidence:
-If God answers all prayers, like it says in the Bible, then all cancer patients who pray for a cure should be cured, correct?
-there is no scientific evidence of God's existence
-children die of cancer, there are wars that have dragged on for centuries over who is right about a supposedly understanding God, people are born without limbs, and I can go on and on- people say this is God's plan, but if this is God's plan, then I want nothing to do with this tyrant
-Jesus was a jerk and you would know this if you read anything outside the Bible, which was put together by carefully selected pieces of literature by agreement at the Council of Nicea, and unfavorable descriptions of Jesus were burned

I mean, think about it: If most people in the US are descendant from Europeans, how come there are still people in Europe?

It's kind of like the perfectly valid question about evolution: If humans evolved from apes, how come there are still apes?

I think it's a lie: Most Americans aren't descendant from Europeans at all. God just put us all where we are, just like he created Adam out of dirt and Eve out of a rib.

In Genesis 26:34, the Bible says "When Esau was forty years old, he married Judith daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Basemath daughter of Elon the Hittite"

In Genesis 28:9, the Bible says "Esau went to Ishmael and took Mahalath daughter of Abraham's son Ishmael, and sister of Nebaioth, to be his wife in addition to the wives he had."

In Genesis 36:2-3, the Bible says "Esau took his wives from the Canaanites: Adah daughter of Elon the Hittite, Oholibamah daughter of Anah son of Zibeon the Hivite, and Basemath, Ishmael's daughter, sister of Nebaioth."

Thus, we see the following:
1)Judith--Daughter of Beeri the Hittite
2)Basemath--daughter of Elon the Hittite
3)Mahalath, daughter of Ishmael

1)Adah--daughter of Elon
2)Oholibamah--daughter of Anah, granddaughter of Zibeon the Hivite
3)Basemath--daughter of Ismael

I've been told that perhaps Adah is the former Basemath and the latter Basemath is the former Mahalath, but what about Judith and Oholibamah?

This is inconsistent?

i find it interesting that "good christian people" share so many believes, yet they are so un-united. they teach to love one another, yet stab each other in the back. from all i've seen in religion it's all hypocritical bull ****. the thing i find most interesting is that they can't seem to open up to new ideas. they go to a "holy war" with terrorists and islamics because they are radicals but wouldn't you have to be a radical to be in a holy war in the first place? i know this isn't really a question so i guess really all i want is to know whether people agree or not since christians won't open their minds or try to learn from anything that's not in the bible and my fellow athiests will only answer positively because it's against christianity

is believing that Jesus died for your sins, then why does it say in the Bible that very few will make it, many will call Lord Lord, but he will turn away. I believe it takes much more than to just believe in God, you must also have a pure heart, a kind heart, Not a selfish one. I do believe in God but not the biblical one, I dont believe That God would be so cold and heartless, and would ask us to be also, have you ever really looked at it all with eyes wide open? I am not being mean, I am just trying hard to understand why you will not question what you believe

He detests J.R.R. Tolkien because he's Catholic. The Lord Of The Rings series he says is trivial because of that. On what his books are about, "I write about killing God." He wants to "annihilate the idea of God that is unimaginative and antiquated."On Christians:"...it is the claim that all virtue belongs to their sect, all vice to others. It is so clearly wrong, so clearly stupid, so clearly counter-productive, that it leads the unbiased observer to assume that you're not allowed in the religious club unless you leave your intelligence at the door." and, "the tendency among Christians (and no doubt other religions too) to think that anything they like in the work of an avowed atheist or agnostic is a sign that really the said a. or a. is deluding himself, and that he's really Christian, only he doesn't know it yet.But I resist that interpretation, as you'd expect me to. I'm not deluded: Christians are."

You know that Yahoo Answers, when you ask a question, provides a list of similar questions already asked and answered. Why not just visit them instead of wasting points asking the question again, often multiple times in a row?

Asking it again a few days later after it's closed, maybe, so that people will have a fresh viewpoint; but within two pages of a Question that's almost exactly the same? All that does is choke the category, making it almost impossible to keep up with all of the questions being asked.

Why would you do that?

I am on the Sapara number 8. I am 11. My Khala(Aunt) teaches me with proper Tajweed(pronunciation). She teaches me and she learned it from her sister-in-law, who learned it from a famous Sheikh. So basically, I am learning it the hard way. The 'professional' way, lol. I read it every day, or try to, with her, over the phone, since I live in Illinois and she lives in Michigan. I haven't read it lately, because her husband had surgery yesterday, and she has been busy. I had to repeat the Yasernal(i cant spell it)Quran 2 times, then I did this practice packet, then I did the 30th Sapara, then 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and now I am on the eighth. Well, Allah Hafiz!

How many missionaries and evangelists do you suppose are spread out in the world, beyond Christian homelands?

Are we pretty close to spreading the Word of God around the world? Do you think we are in "the last days" already?

When the gospel reaches all nations, do you believe Christ will return then?

Maranatha. Lord come!
