God, I should say Jesus, doesn't do miracles anymore. It said so in the Bible. Creating a cure to cancer is a miracle.
There is to scientific evidence of His existence. This entire planet. Do you really believe we all evolved from monkeys or scum from the bottom of the ocean?
God's plan is different for each person. He does things for a reason. To show people that nothing is impossible, there is hope, etc.
Jesus was not a jerk. He was perfect. A perfect person isn't a jerk. The reason it was unfavorable was because it was un-true. God had appointed certain people to write His Word, and those who wrote without knowledge, were wrong. The peices deserved to be burned.
We all have our opinions, and I believe that God shouldn't be questioned. He or Jesus.

The concept of God has been so tampered with by man throughout the centuries, that no wonder you're so confused. Whether or not you believe in God, there still exists a higher intelligence behind the creation of all of us and all of life.
Everything happens for a reason and you have to start developing a higher level of understanding as to why that is so. First of all, organized religions lead us to believe that God is to be found somewhere above us, overseeing us all from that far away place and that we need to think and act a certain way to avoid eternal damnation. I see that type of religious mentality as inspiring fear in the hearts of people to get them to believe.
But the reality of God goes far deeper than that. I don't think of God as this judgemental being outside of myself. God is everywhere and he's in your heart too. You are God, but don't take that the wrong way!
God is rather a consciousness, that once you begin to learn the way of perceiving that stream of consciousness, that you begin to have a deeper understanding of what life and creation is all about.
Go to andrewcohen.org. Or agapelive.com. Or ameekpress.com.
It helps to get a perspective on God consciousness from those that are not so rigidly connected to religious doctrine alone.
But try to have an open mind to this whole thing. You seem to speaking from a traditional viewpoint on religion. There are other interpretations and understandings that go beyond the ironies that you're mentioning as concerns the nature of God.
It's a childish notion to think of God as if he were some super parent taking care of the world or not taking care of the world good enough. Go to those sites I mentioned, if you truly want to open up your mind and really make some discoveries about what God really is.

Cancer: a lot of ppl think that God will say ok poof here you go ok you ask for this this and this here it is..he's not a genie. God has reasons for every thing and He knows what He is doing. Maybe some ppl have to die from cancer so that others can come to know him my sister died (but not from cancer) and b/c of her death my mom and my family came to know God w/o her death i prob would still be dead spiritually and He has done so much for me but back to the cancer patients and yes cancer is a horrible disease but have you ever thought of this...He answers prayers..but how often are we looking for the answer that we wnat and not the answer that God wants since He knows everything?
Science: God is made science...look at your body...go look in an anatomy book and tell me there isnt a God and see how complex your body is..walk through a neonatal center and tell me there isnt a God watching those little babies breath on the machines that God allowed to be made so that they can have life...do u not have faith?
God's plan: man fell right...and so now we all are sinners right? so what was the only thing that could save us, Jesus and the only way was for Him to suffer and die for YOU and me and the rest of the world...suffering brings peace..watch the passion of the Christ
and i have a question for you....
im guessing your an athesist....if you could care less about all of this why are you asking questions? and why do you care so much? see if all ppl who are athesist really believed there was no God they would let ppl like me just look like fools right? but w/e floats your boat....

I think believing in God, like believing in anything more powerful than one's self, gives people comfort and assurance that this life is not all we have. Because if this rat race, and all of the materialistic things we do, is it, then that is really pathetic.
I don't believe in God as God is defined by the church or Bible, but I do believe there is *something*. I think everyone has the right to believe whatever they want as long as they don't force those beliefs on others.
As far as the wars go, many of those wars have been and are still because of different *interpretations* of God. I do not think that as humans we will ever fully understand what a true God, Gods, or whatever is. However, we will kill those that do not believe as we do... but I do not think that is the fault of God. It is the fault of close-minded people.

So what's new?
Just a few nights ago I sat up with a friend who was dying right then of the same condition I am dying of soon. He had always worried about all the crazy stuff in the bible and the faith tradition he was raised in, and wanted to talk it out before he died.
He died at peace because he came to see that the biblical religion is all bogus, and there is a good chance that there is no afterlife, but it's okay because he won't know it.
So it isn't always what people need for comfort. Sometimes getting rid of the "god" thing can be an even greater comfort.
Merry Christmas! ...er, I mean... well, something...

Your wrong.
First of all, If a person with cancer has prayed to be cured then sometimes God doesn't answer your prayers the way you want him to.
Secondly you are speaking as the devils right hand. God knows it, I know it, and any Christian you have ever met knows it.
Thirdly, read the bible. Heres some scripture to prove the secondly thing:
1 Peter 5:8
Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

That is your point of view and not everyone is the same. Just because you feel this way, doesnt make it right.
But, you have a right to feel anyway you want to feel and so does the rest of the world. Its a Choice you make.
Just because your life isnt perfect or the rest of the world doesnt mean its God fault and if there is no God then why are you blaming him anyways. Sounds personal to me.
God doesnt always give you the answer you want, sometimes he says NO!! But he gave you the freedom to make choices.
Humans dont always make the right choices or decisions so dont blame GOD because your life isnt perfect, get off your butt and do something with what God gave you, to make life better instead of sitting back and blaming someone for the decisions that mankind has made.

Sounds like you want a G-d who is a slave to people, who must do as everyone wants, who must obey any wish or command of people. And anyone with any common sense must realize that no one can please everyone, so that just wouldn't work.
Life has an end. That is true of all of us. G-d didn't give us the choice of how long we'd live or how we'd die; we weren't put in charge of those decisions. Instead, we are given the responsibility to live life as best we can, making the best of the opportunities given us, helping others as much as we can, living in a way that pleases G-d. But we can rest in the knowledge that Someone is in charge and has a plan--even if we don't understand it.
Sounds like you're very angry at G-d. I hope you find what you are really looking for.

There's an explanation for your questions, but since you've already made up your mind as to the belief of God, and you've already made up your mind that he's a tyrant and Jesus was a jerk, then there's no sense on even trying to explain any of it to someone like you. It would just turn into an argument....this is not a matter of who's right or wrong.

I do agree with your "details" but you did miss something out.
You missed out the evidence of his existence. Have you looked around, and at yourself? Who made YOU? who made the complex machine that is the human body. The evolutionists say its all came together "by accident".
I say God made us, god made humans, god made the planets - just look at the gorgeous photos of our world on flickr or the TV. god made the universe - have you seen the gorgoeus photos from the hubble telescope? (yes I know they have colour correction, but they are still lovely).
And then god went walkabout. Thats why he doesnt cure the sick, he does not cure children with cancer (man's own medicine does that - sometimes), and thats why god never regrews an amputees severed limb. He chooses to not interfere in the details of our lives.
God left humanity on their own devices. Thats what I beleive.
