You know science is fun and dull after awhile like most human things. Yet, don't they understand they've gone too far? If I'm wrong, may I choke on my words, but I've lived soo long and I'm soo old and I still believe in Jesus. He's a good man, you know. He isn't dead as long as he is in our hearts and prayers.

Women are supposed to do the light work b/c men were punished in the garden of Eden by working by the sweat of their brow but women did not get that punishment. I think men are supposed to do the manly things that require a lot of physical labor and also the ones that require a lot of hours being put in on the job away from home like being a scientist or something. I don't think a good man would like a woman who spends more time at her job than raising her kids, you know?

Why are many different religions so close in what are their core beliefs?

2007-12-23 15:18:16 · 31 answers · asked by Anonymous

Just want to know about your faith:
1. Do you believe in the right God? Why?
2. Is your religion the absolute truth? Why?
3. Are you doing the thing when you try to convert others into your religion? Have you ever thought about the consequences if the religion you believe is not the 'truth'?
4. Is your God the 'best' among other 'believed' Gods and Goddesses? Why?
5. Do you remember how you become a believer? Was it school? Parents?
6. Do you study/try to know more about other religions before choosing the current one? Why?
6. Christians: What do you think will happen to people of other faith in rapture if you believe there will be one?

Please think before you answer, thank you.

or does he have lots of different nasty tortures for different people?
Don't get me wrong, burning is awful. No serial killer has ever tortured anyone longer or more horribly than god will torture those who choose the wrong belief.
But do you think it's the *only* way god will torture people?

I know several Catholics, in fact I married into a very large family of Catholics, but I have noticed very few of them follow the 10 commandments, in fact they have down right disgraced them. Do you think this is just coincidence that they don't practice what they preach? Or do you think it just gets noticed more because they are usually a very strict religion?

Christians, why do you not see and be vehemence in your preachings against the demonic Pentecostalism?

Is it not all flesh in the worship, rather than to minister the Spirit of God for one to have brokeness and contrition??

I mean, I can understand things like "Thou shalt not kill" and "Thou shalt not bear false witness", etc. Things like that can end up hurting other people (especially that first one).

But do we have an idea about why the Christian god says in the bible that homosexual sex is bad? So bad that the participants ought to be put to death?

I mean, sure, there are diseases and stuff, but they're mostly preventable, and it's not like homosexual sex is the only way to contract them. Certainly it's not so bad that you have to kill both people: that's literally curing the disease by killing the patient.

So what's up with that? Was it a social thing of the time, outdated now? And if so, why do some Christians still get so up-in-arms about it?

And please, refrain if you can from the "it's unnatural" argument. Textiles, money, writing and selective breeding all existed in biblical times, and are all "unnatural" too, but the bible doesn't condemn users of these things to death.

If that's true, then why do some people find their purpose in leading others away from religion, and some people find their purpose in pulling them towards it? That would mean that the purpose would be divided in two, so the conclusion is either heaven or hell (of course in the Christian beliefs.)

I hope this makes sense. It's just... why are some of us created to just go to hell?

Someone has this on their profile and blocked me from their question.

I have my opinions, I respect whether you agree or disagree with them and your right to your opinion, but I don't want any hate mail.

Take a guess who!

Denying the Holy Spirit is a sin the New Testament says is not forgiveable, therefore denying the Holy Spirit once means you are going to Hell. It is in the bible.

Since The Holy Spirit, Jesus, and God are really just one being, then denying Jesus or God is the same sin correct.

Did not Peter deny Jesus thrice in the days leading to his crucifixian and would this not land the founder of Christs church in the torments of hell.

2007-12-23 15:05:03 · 11 answers · asked by Anonymous

I have been reading the New Testament, but I can't find anywhere where Jesus Christ claims to be the long awaited Messiah.

Could someone help me here with a quote that would help me understand his role.

You see, I'm starting to believe, each of us will have to take a bigger role in our own salvation and not just passively wait for someone else to come and clean up our mess: "God helps those who help themselves". If I am right, I'll need to know what is required of us. So far, all I come up with is to treasure all life including our planet.

Thanks

Seriously what do you tend to gain from pushing all that garbage on everyone? And why do you keep deleting our questions if you are peaceful you would ignore them and move on. Why are you causing a war that you cannot win. We are in peace and fight with the pen. Not any virgins and arms that you see on tv, they are in error those people. So why do you want to create a crusader war again? Surely you can see the error that is causing so much more terror that we all have to clean up again. When did you forget how to read root words?

Let's agree about this first:
You believe in 'one' God who's so almighty and so complicated that our feeble mind wouldn't be able to understand — the God who left absolutely no provable facts of their existence and 'one' who told you to be happy because you have faith in something without needing to see/to prove.

The question:
Do you think you deny the existence of Gods in other religions by choosing to believe in only 'one' God?
Do you think that makes you an Atheist of other kinds?
