I mean, I can understand things like "Thou shalt not kill" and "Thou shalt not bear false witness", etc. Things like that can end up hurting other people (especially that first one).
But do we have an idea about why the Christian god says in the bible that homosexual sex is bad? So bad that the participants ought to be put to death?
I mean, sure, there are diseases and stuff, but they're mostly preventable, and it's not like homosexual sex is the only way to contract them. Certainly it's not so bad that you have to kill both people: that's literally curing the disease by killing the patient.
So what's up with that? Was it a social thing of the time, outdated now? And if so, why do some Christians still get so up-in-arms about it?
And please, refrain if you can from the "it's unnatural" argument. Textiles, money, writing and selective breeding all existed in biblical times, and are all "unnatural" too, but the bible doesn't condemn users of these things to death.
