Orthodox and Catholics separated from one another in 1054. There are very few theological differences. The main difference is that the Orthodox Churches (http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/11329a.htm) use the Byzantine Rite (http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/04312d.htm) and the Catholic Church use the Roman or Latin Rite.

Pope John Paul II said of the Orthodox Churches in Orientale Lumen, "A particularly close link already binds us. We have almost everything in common." (see http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/john_paul_ii/apost_letters/documents/hf_jp-ii_apl_02051995_orientale-lumen_en.html )

With love in Christ.

the difrecness- first Orthodox are coligality there is no one Pope with utlimate athority all Bishops are equal which is one of the reasons for the schism. Next we do not accept the additon of the Filioque to the creed it was finished in the 4th century and we keep it that way. We foucus on the incarnation of defeating death we don't have purgatory we also have used more local languages -the Greeks use an old form of Greek the Russians Bulgarians and Russians use an old from of those languages
the Romanians use Romanian and alot of Churches in the US -espiecaly in the Orthodox Church in America(www.oca.org) use English.
Next as we have not had an ecumincal council since the 7-8th centuries a lot of modernist tendencies you see in the roman Cahtolics aren't found in Orhtodoxy. For example the Roman Cahtolics now only fast from meat on fryday during Lent while the Orthodox fasts- are almost every wensday and friday Advent lent and a few other time in the year. Orthodox ervices are tradtionaly acapella. Also confession differs we don't have the box and we don't walk in saying "bless me father for I ahve sinned? the preist has the first words..

Catholicism and Eastern Orthodox are pretty much alike. Both believe in the Trinity, Mary's perpetual virginity, revere saints and Mary, and believe in apostolic succession. I would say both denominations are similiar about 90% but the main difference is that they do not recognize the Pope. They have a Patriarch of Constantinople which is sort of a Pope to them. He is called "the first among all firsts". Another difference is that while Catholicism believes in the literal presence in the Eucharist, Eastern Orthodox prefers to label it a "mystery". They also don't believe in purgatory. Their clergy can marry (though if they are single when they are ordained, they cannot marry). They are the second largest Christian denomination after Catholicism.

The biggest issue was over who was in charge. The Pope insisted he had final authority over all Christians, while the Patriarch in Constantinople argued he and the Pope were equals. They finally excommunicated each other. The central beliefs are largely the same. They mostly differ in some practices. Easter is calculated differently and orthodox Christians do not believe in religious sculptures and prefer iconic images that communicate meanings over physical appearances.

the difference between the Orthodox Church and Catholicism is the Ecclesiastical custom. exterior of that, they are fairly plenty the comparable. they have classic Mass, and did no longer persist with the Novus Ordo flow, as maximum Catholics have. they are in reality in Schism, there the place specific traditions that they did no longer trust.

The first two things that come to mind are:

Imputed and infused righteousness. The Bible teaches Thst Christ's righteousness is credited to believers. Roman Catholicism doesn't.

Roman Catholics pray to dead people. The pray to persons (Mary, the "saints" ect.) besides the Trinity.
