There are different things here. Muslims do believe Jesus as a prophet but not as a son of god. Jesus in Christianity is being more likely towards religion celebration. Muslims doesn't celebrate anything that have to do with others religion celebration eventhough they believe in Jesus

Because they believe Jesus was only a prophet. Not the Son of God. Which really makes no sense? Jesus would have had to been a lying prophet as he died because he said he was the Son of God. If you do your own research on the Koran, you will find that Mohammad added Jesus later on in his writings because he met two Christians from Rome and felt it would add validity to his work as he had copied so many of the Old Testament writings. There are a lot of really negative stories about Mohammad that never reach the main stream. This does not surprise this Christian as I know for right now this is part of Satan’s master plan. Mohammad claimed to receive his inspiration from an Angel, and I believe him. But I am afraid this Angel was Satan. Is this to deep for my non-believing friends? Well, if I believe in Jesus, ( and I do) I have to Believe in Satan

My friend Henry below me is wrong. His facts about the translations are not even close.

Christmas is a Christian holiday despite its massive commercialization. It celebrates the birth of Christ who Christians recognize as the son of God. Muslims do not believe Jesus was anything more than a prophet like Mohammed so they do not celebrate his birth as anything special. Asking why Muslims don't celebrate Christmas is like asking why Christians don't celebrate Yom Kippur or Ramadan.

I am a Muslim convert and a former deacon in the seventh day adventist.

Not only Muslims but a doctrinally sound protestant sects because christmas is an "invention" of the Catholic church. Being Dec 25 as the birth date of Zeus! Hence its one of the many pagan beliefs like Valentines Day, the shifting of the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday, the veneration of idols in complete disregard to the 2nd Commandment (which they kept) Thou shalt not bow down on any graven image.

The question could not be isolated to be answered as merely “not celebrating Christmas” since the reasons are tied up to a host of pagan adaptation into the Christian faith. The 99 theses of Martin Luther in his cry of “sola scriptura” the Bible and the Bible alone --- which started the Protestant movement (pro-testant meaning “for the testament” or the witnesses ) lists these “grievous errors”. Even this bearded good looking Jesus is but an invention. Have you heard of the black Nazarene?

The birth of the Prophet Jesus has its story with shepherds tending their flock etc etc which points to a summer period sometime between August and September. And could not possibly happen on the 25th of December.

On the baseless conclusion of Muslims does not have fun… it’s the worldly fun (expressed in drugs, liquor, irresponsible sex and damaging activities) that Muslims do not practice (which all serious Christian denominations equally abhor)

Muslims believe in ALL the Prophets because since the time of Adam to Jesus, they convey a message of worship of the true God (invisible, who is not begotten nor does He begot, beyond comprehension). But man has made gods in images, in relics, in money, in people.

In the assumption that the crucifixion happened; Christ called out in his ARAMAIC language “Eli, Eli, sabathani!” My God My God why thou has forsaken me?”

Note here that this is the only Aramaic language recorded in the remaining four (of the 26 plus now gospel of Judas discovery). The Gospel of Jesus was in Aramaic language not in Greek nor Hebrew. The Greek versions are “copies of translations” which the monks “added words, commas, and interpreted further… resulting to bibles that are inauthentic. Thus, they are not anymore the true revelations … such as the “lord’s prayer”.

Eli is God’s name in Aramaic. In the last revealed scriptures in the prophet Muhammad, (SAW), the language was Arabic thus God revealed himself as “ALLAH”. And that is why the Qur’an remains to be the only preserved God’s communication to man reminding mankind to worship Him in spirit. No face.

For clarification, just like in Christianity, there are people who interpret Islam (among the Muslims) wrongfully. Afghanistan is a very clear example.

So you see, the question isn’t simple because it’s connected to many issues and errors that has been imbedded into the Christian faith.

You can believe someone existed without worshipping them. Muslims (and Jews) believe Jesus to be a great religious prophet, but not the Messiah or Son of God. It would be sacreligious to them to exalt a simple man to the level of God.

Because Christmas is based on Pagan celebrations, and not Jesus' real birthday.
Plus they don't really 'celebrate' anything, but they do anckoledge Ramadan. And some others.

for one thing, they consider him to be the Second to Last Prophet (the last prophet being muhammad) also, they don't believe that he died on a cross and rose from the dead and ascended into heaven, they believe that he died and went to heaven like anybody else would. and also, they don't believe that he is the Son of God, they believe that He was just an ordinary person. So they have no reason to celebrate Him like Christians do.
