I mean... why do ALL OF YOU think that God hates them...

You go even so far as to protest at the funerals of deceased servicemen who were found out to be gay.

How can you be so hateful? How do you know that your God is so hateful?

When I say Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas? There are so many differant religions, I just want to make sure I don't offend anyone. I would not want to say Merry Christmas to someone who celebrates Hanaka. Why can't the christains see that I am just trying to be friendly, to all cultures without offending anyone. Why are they so thinned skinned?

i am so non religious, dont believe in god at all.
my friend is a mormon so i decided to read up about it. why would anyone believe all that rubbish. they pay 10% of their earnings to the church. why should you have to pay to go to church. its not right. they also abstain from coffee alcohol and tobacco to live a healthy life. my friend has many illnessess and one of her children has severe learning difficulties. so obviously abstaining from all these to live a healthy life hasnt done them any good. i drink a bottle of wine a night and smoke like a chimney and i am healthier then her. when they get married they agree to obey their husbands. i dont obey anyone. if i dont want to do it i wont do it simple as. she was bullied as a child cos of her religion now her son is going through the same thing. they say they are believers in family commitments etc but who would put their child through that. i just find it really hard to comprehend. thanks for listening.

If evolution is true and not creation then what did Jesus need to die for. Evolution says there was sin and death before man. Creation says man brought sin into the world. Death and suffering was caused by man.

Evolution says the world is billions of years old. Creation says the world is around 6000 years old. You can date back to the time of Adam and Eve. So if anything died (including dinasaurs) before Adam sinned the there is death before sin and Jesus did not need to die for us.

I've heard the phrase, usually under duress, "OH SWEET JESUS!"

So what makes him so darn sweet? Is he candy coated? If so, in what substance?

Peppermint may be a good idea. In fact, why don't we have peppermint crosses to hang on the Christmas tree instead of candy canes? Must be the damned atheists behind that one.

I think that most mainstream Christian denominations hold this as how things will work on Judgment Day:

You could be Josef Stalin, Adolf Hitler, a serial child killer, or some other scumbag who caused a huge amount of suffering in the world, but if you repent and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior on your deathbed, you go to heaven. However, if you were a virtuous pagan (e.g. Gandhi) who tried very hard to live a holy life, but reject the Christian religion, you'd burn in Hell.

How, by the beard of Thor, could you even remotely consider this just? Yes, I know the tired old answer is "Because God's ways are not our own"--but what if 'God's ways' are 180-degrees out of whack with our concepts of justice? If this is just (in some sort of 'divine' way), then black is white, up is down, and the whole Christian religion is standing on its head...
