Do you question the judgement of all the presidential candidates who are Christian? Does their belief in a "fairy tale" bring into question their judgement in other areas? Do not all the candidates profess a belief in God? I think it is human nature, that if you disagree with one on such an important issue, that it would cause you to be suspect of their other beliefs. Faith shapes a persons beliefs in many ways.

The Bible was inspired; does that mean it has mistakes? If the Bible doesn't have mistakes (since it's inspired by Jehovah or The Holy Spirit, it shouldn't) then why would The Watchtower (which is also "inspired") have mistakes? If it is truly inspired like The Bible, wouldn't it be a perfect companion to The Bible? But...is it a perfect companion? If it is really inspired by Jehovah or the Holy Spirit, and possibly a perfect companion, shouldn't your writings be canonized with the rest of the Bible? Why or why not?

The Watchtower claims:

"The Watchtower is not the instrument of any man or set of any of men, nor is it published according to the whims of men. No man's opinion is expressed in the Watchtower."
(Watchtower 1931 November 1 page. 327)

"Nothing is interpreted but the interpretation comes from God and is then published."
(Watchtower 1943 July 1 page. 202-203)

Why are there so many different denominations in christianity.Doesn't christianity revolve around following the teachings of christ.Do all the different denominations think that their's is the only right one.why can't christians just focus on their belief in christ and stop trying to convince everyone else that their viewpoint is the only way to see it.

There are many posts in R & S, putting Mao in the company of Hitler. My question is: What do you know about Mao that makes him deserve your black list? He did not even kill the last emperor who was a traitor. His failed economic policy caused famine and death of millions. But that can not label him as evil.

Truman dropped two atomic in Japan, and fire bombed Tokyo, killing millions. Didn't he intend to kill innocent people?

I did write her an email, but she didn't even bother to truly look at it. Again, she leaves me feeling that I can't do anything good. What do you think of her response? What can I do to stop this?

wrote: Mom, I'm sorry you are angry with me.

I don't know how many times I can apologize. Even the doctor said it was better to come in rather than to not and let something be broken or whatnot.

I have done the very best I can. I've gone out of my way to take JJ to his physical therapy against my husband saying gas is expensive. I did it out of love for my mother and my brother. The kids spend time with you. Cherana doesn't even let her mother or father spend time with her kids. I gave up a cell phone and have another one if you need it. I'm giving up my PS2 to JJ since I don't need it and I know it will make him feel better.

Anything about it. The question I was asked was, "Why do we sing praises to God, and its not just something to raise ourselves up?"

Seriously, people think they're taking Christ out of Christmas by saying Xmas, but X is actually the Greek letter for Christ. Xmas is only an abbreviation.

I have had quite a bit of negative feedback from people saying that they don't appreciate JWs on their door on Christmas day...some people are highly offended. Could this be a case of being discreet and not causing offence to others? What do you think?

Have you ever felt like this?
I feel like until now, I've been living in sin. I was never exactly a horrible person but the little things I did that I thought were harmless, were acts of the devil. I believed in God, and prayed so I thought that justified everything I did when really, the devil was winning all along. Evil- kept with me with an ex of mine who was no good for me or my son, (which I knew but stayed & made excuses) it kept me having sex before marriage, portraying negative energy when I could have been more positive etc.

I've always believed in God but now, I see the world so much more clearer...I no longer judge those who I feel are living in sin because in order for a change, they need prayer, not judgment (unless its from God)… I’m more easily able to decipher right and wrong in God’s eyes….and I want to try harder to live by that.

It is known that Christmas was originally a pagan holiday, and was later changed to honor Christ. One of the popes did this to make it easier for the pagans to convert. I won't celebrate Halloween because of it's pagan background, but I will celebrate Christmas because Christmas has changed and now honors God, while Halloween on the other hand is still about witchcraft and death (you may disagree, but that's nopt what this question is about.)

So anyways, what is so wrong about changing something bad and making it for the glory of God. Paul said that it was okay to eat meat that pagans sold in the market that they had sacrificed to their gods, if you were giving thanks to God for the meat and were not observing as a sacrifice to pagan gods. If you don't celebrate Christmas do you also believe that wedding rings are wrong because they are also of pagan tradition? will you not be burried in a casket because that's a pagan tradition?

I like both faiths I like Paganism because it is fun and the gods help me but it is very lonely and I have to practise behind my mothers back. I like catholicism because it has huge churches and I can go to mass every week so I feel like I am part of community but I feel like my spirit is hollow and christ as my saviour dosnt make sense as a phrophet sure but not as god. so how do I choose?
