Being human, everyone has his personal quirks, and it shows up in religion too. Secondly, most Christians I know are unwilling to let go of their false beliefs even when convinced that they are wrong.
(Last night I'd been talking to a dear brother who says there's no mention of gifts in 1Cor.12:1. He says even if its there, it shouldn't have been there)

All Christian denominations revolve around Christ, however they have different beliefs and interpretations of the bible.
For example, the Baptists and many other Protestant denominations believe in The Rapture, while the Catholic Church and many other Protestant churches do not. This is a major difference. The Mormon Church believes that the angel Moroni gave the prophet Joseph Smith "golden tablets" to interpret into The Book of Mormon. They say he found them at a hill near his home.
Other denominations have minor and major differences. Some churches believe you can be baptized more than once, while others think it is a sin or at least unnecessary. I am aware of a Baptist church which loves to Baptize people, like a show every Sunday, even people who THEY have baptized two or three times. So there are divisions and differences among Christian sects.

Those are wise thoughts and the answer will make sense. I have studied the history of the church. God has a specific plan and purpose for His people. However, human pride causes the conflicts that concern you.
Your duty is not to follow men or compare yourself to men and their weaknesses. Your duty and loyalty is to Christ alone. Therefore, study Jesus Christ closely.
Start with the gospel of John. Then, read a couple of epistles and come back to Matthew. Go for a couple of more epistles and back to Mark. Do two more and go back to Luke. After that, finish the remainder of the New Testament.
Pray that God will open your heart and mind to His will and He will do it because He is faithful. For sure!

Men want to be right. Christ is definitely right. It is all we can do to follow Him.

...true belief in Christ (the Chosen One)...the Messiah, has noting to do with "denominations" of Christianity... The original followers of Yeshua (His mother called Him Yeshua) were called the followers of The Way... He (Yeshua) never, ever said anything about establishing a "new" faith or religion. He said "upon this Rock (Himself) I will build my Church"... The "word" rock is "petra"... not Petre...or Peter and Peters real name was Kefa... Yeshua never said anything about establishing a Church with Kefa as it's foundation... Christ is The Rock of Salvation and He is The Way, The Truth and The Life... Not the "dogmas", "doctrines" and "traditions" of the "religions" of man...or the old men of Rome... The work of God on Earth was finished on The Cross when Yeshua said... "it is finished"...

The Bible even speaks against denominations. the Church at Corrinth was setting up groups by who was baptizing them and they were rebuked for it.
the true church is the Church of Christ it is a spiritual church made of of all believers in Christ who follow his word. It is not a building and it is not a denomination.

1. Growth.
2. Satan has provided 'tests' for Christians, some people presently pass the tests, some do not.(Eph. 6:12, 1 Peter 5:8).

We need to return to the heart of worship-Jesus Christ. I agree there are too many denominations. I hope you belong to a Christ centered, Bible believing church.
