Steve Amato perhaps you should have read the question properly instead of skimming through and then lighting up at the prospect of making a 'witty' remark. Everyone else seems to have understood. thanks everyone :)

I'm somewhat guessing here. . . but I think "deist" is a term used by people who believe that god exists but otherwise don't have specific religious beliefs

Technically, the term 'creationist' would include you. However, 'creationist' is usually taken to denote a follower of a major religion with a creation story, usually christianity or islam. So if you don't want to be called a creationist, I guess you might have to think up your own new term for yourself. Nothing wrong with that...if you're lucky, your new term might even catch on! :P

Deist is the term. Deists generally believe that a god created the universe but has been pretty much "hands off" since.

Let me get this straight, you don't believe in a Creator and yet you believe life was created. Yes I have a term for that. The term is "confused".

Just learn to tell the difference between The holy Spirit and the spirit of confusion and you will be just like Jesus.
