Once again Satan deceives by making a cartoon of himself as "liar". It's easy to oppose a liar.
Satan's real strength is not that he is a liar, but that he is the ultimate teller of truth. He is just selective about that truth. People are not easily deceived as a whole by liars. People are most easily deceived by those who tell the absolute truth when they speak. But selective truth is the ultimate danger. The serpent spoke only the truth to Eve--"you won't die", "you will be like God telling good from evil", etc.--every word true. But the serpent just didn't mention that eating the fruit meant separation from God, a struggle to survive, etc. When Satan tempted Jesus in the wilderness, every word he spoke to Jesus was true.
LATER EDIT: I have to correct a following answer. NOTHING that the serpent said to Eve was a lie. Not a single word of it. It was just not the whole truth. That's the problem. Satan tells us the absolute truth when he speaks to us, but it becomes distorted truth because it is not the whole truth. It usually doesn't include all the consequences of that choice. But it is always the absolute truth. That's the true deception and why we are so easily deceived by it.

satan thought he was better than God (Or at least, he wanted to be), and he wanted the angels to worship him because of his confusion (Or pride) -- but he only persuaded 1/3.
I'd say he's a good liar, since so many people are deceived to this day of the lack of belief in God.
Not exactly a great idea: Who wants to be expelled from paradise for eternity?

Strange that even after Satan rebelled, especially given that they don't have freewill, that God appeared not to have learned from the experience and corrected the flaws in his next design.
On the other hand, Satan was originally considered to be an an angel sent to enlighten men through trials (read Job in this light and it makes more sense). Evidently both Satan and God's roles have evolved over time.

John 8:44
44You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
2 Corinthians 11:14
14And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. 15It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.

God created satan the full pattern, if you will.
Ezekiel Chapter 28:14-15
14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
“The anointed cherub the covereth”, in the above verse, was satan before his fall from grace.

Yes, He lied to Eve and the whole world was cursed because of His lies. And He still is lying today and people believe him over the word of God. He says, "You don't need to go to Church, they are nothing but hypocrites and money grabbers!" when He knows that we are kings of the KING and will one day rule and reign with Christ for 1000 years. So again, Satan is lying to every one who is rejecting Christ and by doing so, they will spend eternity with Him in his place of torment...

fock the devil and fock god for making him. If god were real why create the devil? Unless god is sadistic. Why did jesus have to die for our sins? Why could god just not forgive us without this nonsense. Religion is evil, and its just a way to control the masses.
