When I say Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas? There are so many differant religions, I just want to make sure I don't offend anyone. I would not want to say Merry Christmas to someone who celebrates Hanaka. Why can't the christains see that I am just trying to be friendly, to all cultures without offending anyone. Why are they so thinned skinned?

I use to work in a hotel and one christmas, well between thanksgiving and christmas I told someone Happy Holidays and they got so offended that they said they would never stay at our hotel again. And about telling people to go back where they came from if they don't like people saying merry christmas. Then that would apply to anyone over here that are not native americans including me. America is a melting pot of all differant cultures and religions so no they shouldn't go back to where they came from that's just nonsense.

Christmas is the celebration of Jesus Christ birthday and mostly all other Holidays came afterwards and I myself used to get offended when other people say Happy Holidays because Jesus is the only true reason for this season and we Christians should not get offended when other people say Happy Holidays but some do get offended because they know the truth!!!!

The real question is why are so many people offended nowadays? Everybody is always offended about something. Why don't they all just settle down. We should all quit worrying so much about offending people. If they are offended too damn. If you live here in the states and can't handle hearing Merry Christmas then GET OUT and go back to where you came from.

Dilemma.
Going 'up' presently to the true God, verses the staying level at the false god (man).
However, (presently in USA) many people have not discerned that the scriptural 'old testament is the law of Moses not Genesis-Malachi. The Jews, Muslims, and Christians have the '2 or more witnesses' principle; but a large part of the Christian group in USA is not applying it to scripture presently.

I think all sensible people would appreciate the spirit in which good wishes are given, and thank you for them, regardless of whether you wish them season's greetings, merry christmas, happy holidays....the point is that you are wishing them well. It would seem very uncharitable to take offence.

I also say Happy Holidays, I have no idea what religion someone may practice so it keeps it simple.
