Sweetheart...Its OK to believe in anything that you want. The people who look at you funny and/or make negative comments to you about your beliefs are nothing but hypocrites. Just about every industrialized country in the world has "Freedom of Religion" written in their constitution. Now, if you live in the US as I do, you will notice that the right-wing, conservative, evagelicals that swear to uphold our rights under the Constitution seem to be the first ones to violate it's very nature.

You have a right to believe what you want. To hell with those that say otherwise!

Jesus is God born to earth....to suffer (in our place) and die for the sins of man and rise again to be seated at the right hand of God.... To wash us clean so we can be in the presence of the Holy God when we leave this earth. People cause war, yes sometimes using religion as an excuse to do what they would do even without religion.....Many millions of people have died at the hands of wars not caused by religions. Evil leaders will use anything to gather support for their war cause including hijacking peoples faith, twisting it and using it to get people to fight for them....People are imperfect and none of us are purely good....I wish you well on your journey and pray for you. We are all here trying to figure it out...it does not make you mad! God Bless!

This is why I'm an Agnostic: In life you have to either believe in dogmatic scientific beliefs about life -- that never have absolute proof -- (who set-forth the Big Bang, did monkey actually evolved form man) like a lot of Atheist or believe dogmatic religious beliefs about life.

It's not OK to believe in a popular religion. The Jewish religious system was popular in the days of Jesus, but he made it clear they were rejected by him and his Father.

Same today, we have to be sure our faith is acceptable to God. It may not be popular at all, but at least it has God's favor.

Because religion is so deeply ingrained in the US that everyone automatically assumes that you're a christian, and that you follow at least the basic tenets of the religion. You might as well say that you have your own ideas about how gravity works.

It is a case of A small group ruin it for the whole. Also atheist fanatics think we believe that a big pink unicorn shall save us. But as always it is their choice to be intolerant and cause as much trouble among believers as possible.

religion has been used in the past to control whole nations and get them to go to war against "unbelievers" by saying somehow they are threatened and a god justifies the use of force for murder and pillaging

because people rely on the belief of others to support their "god". A common delusion if you will
When you don't support it, it challenges their safety and security.
