I've heard the phrase, usually under duress, "OH SWEET JESUS!"

So what makes him so darn sweet? Is he candy coated? If so, in what substance?

Peppermint may be a good idea. In fact, why don't we have peppermint crosses to hang on the Christmas tree instead of candy canes? Must be the damned atheists behind that one.

A few I know pray using Sweet Jesus as a term of honor and affection, but mostly I've heard this used in place of a swear word. In that case, I'm going to say it is a borderline on blaspheming for those who believe and for those who don't it's just words picked up by hearing others say the same thing.

In either case sloppy thinking leads to sloppy living.

No one has made peppermint crosses yet to my knowledge. But now the idea is out there, maybe someone will. They make 'hot crossed buns' still. So why not peppermint crosses? We just had a birthday party for Jesus at our church for the little ones Friday night. They made manger scenes on oval paper plates using wafer bars, two types of pretzels - the little square ones that look like windows and the fatter round pretzel 'logs', animal crackers and green frosting(for the ground cover and to give a base to cement the sides of the manger). They left them on the hospitality table to harden. The youth director found teeny tiny little plastic babies to lay in the manger today. These were works of art, every one different but every single one was recognizable. Then, today after church, they are going to eat the mangers if they want to or take them home. (not eating the plastic baby Jesus)

His understanding and teachings on love are so sweet and true...that's why Jesus is so 'sweet'. It's pretty sweet also, when you can destroy someone who is absolutely wrong and choose not to.

You are sweet for asking the Q. Please don't go around damning anyone. That is not any human's job. Blessings.

You mean you never called another person "sweet"? It just means it's someone who loves him.

I am aware of the fact that you are mocking. What value does that have?

well, it is not the candy coating on the cross that makes him "sweet" but rather the ability of SWEET JESUS" to love me as I continue to woller in my filth. I fail, I fall, I get all covered in stinky crap from the hog pens of life and ...................................................................................................................................................................................................................................tada ........................................................................................................................................ there is Jesus, waiting for me to cry out "Help Lord I am sinking.". Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, how I've proved him over and over.
