you dont have to have religion in your life to have good values, and a sense of community. if more parents took controll of their kids then we wouldnt have half the problems in britain that we do today.

I checked out the link, that show sounds interesting, but from what I've read there it didn't turn out to be in the favour of Islam, did it? The volunteers weren't really cooperative, now were they? That tells us a little something about it, I guess.
Personally, I think it's ridiculous to call Britain anti-social. That is so untrue. As for alcohol, promiscuity, gambling and so on, it happens in every society and it is a big problem which needs to be solved, but I'm not sure that Islam is a solution to those. Take a look at Turkey, for example, which is a secular state. I have NEVER in my life come across more people consuming alcohol as I've seen in Turkey. If it doesn't work in a 50-50 country, then how is it supposed to work elsewhere? Turning Britain into Iran or Afghanistan is out of the question and it will never happen.
The true answer to those problems is in people themselves and in country's government, not in a religion.

You could also argue that a brutal dictatorship or military coup would also solve these problems but does that mean they are right?
Extreme excesses are unpleasant and measures should be taken to curb these but here's something 'god-fearers' need to get their heads round, the majority of people who drink and have sex are having fun and enjoying their lives. They are not all poor lost souls, with unhappy miserable lives they are living life to the full and making the most of the short time we have.
Whereas millions of dead religious people are lying in their graves having done nothing with their lives.
Oh and I live in a city with a large muslim population and the boys especially are some of the worst when it comes to drink, drugs and treating non-muslim girls like dirt. All this despite the fact they've spent their entire lives being brought up on the quran and the islamic way of life.

Did not check the link.
Yes Islam is the answer, if practiced in the right way as per the Quran and Sunnah.
Read the Quran and you will find out.

Never going to happen so don't feed the hype if I reject christianity I am sure as hell never gonna accept a dangerous backwards religion like the muslim faith and I think the other 66.5 million non muslims in the UK would obliterate anyone attempting that and rightly so,as for respect when you lot treat women with dignity and let them have the equality they deserve then you might be seen as not so much in the dark ages....

Actually , the UK has fewer social problems than the more religious countries, ( like the USA ) the Scandinavian countries and places like Japan suggest it is better to eliminate Religion and Faith all together , including Islam .
I would rather live in a country with binge drinkers , than in a country were women were stoned to death for falling in love with a man from a different faith

It's an interesting question. I'm a Muslim, and I'll probably come off with a bias, and get a load of crap in return for what I think, but if the religion 'Islam' was replaced by 'Christianity', I'm sure you'd get a similar response, since so many people now favour NOT having a religion.
Islam could contribute a lot to society, as a lot of people mentioned before: like forbidding alcohol unless it's a medical emergency, forbidding pre-marital relationships (which could prevent a lot of unwanted pregnancies and abortions) etc. But then again, a lot of people are so used to the utter freedom to do what they like, whether it be cheat on their wives/husbands or commit suicide because their morals are their own. They can decide what is right and what is wrong. The only difference in Islam is that the morals are laid down in rules for all mankind - i.e. the law is universal and so all people have the same sense of what's right and what's wrong.
In today's society, I'm sure it'd be really difficult for people to immediately adjust to Islam if it was thrust upon them because they live a life that is so different from what Islam says. Difficult, but not impossible. If the people of this country really wanted to improve the state of Britain then Islam would be an alternative... not necessarily the answer.
N.B> The media tends to take things out of proportion...if people really wanted to know what Islam was, I'd advise sitting in an isolated room with no TV/radio/ipod or media device and reading two books:
1) Quran - English translation -(the book Muslims follow and believe is the word of God)
2) Sahih-al-Bukhari (a book of quotes from what Muhammad - the Prophet Muslims believe as the Last Prophet - said and did, with advice on how to act in various situations).
... Only then would you get the true essence of Islam.

In a simple answer, ISLAM is the rescuer now and the Holy QURAN is the constitution for the whole life. Can you imagine why Quran is standing without any distortion or corruption from 1428yrs uptill now? THINK and compare the other constitutions or books. You can find the answer about any question to behave and relax your soul and life. In addition, you can find the solution for any problem. Just read and try. But avoid the mass media because the have their self-interests.

Spiritual love, intelligence, awareness and good sense are the answers to many of our social ills. If Islam reflects and develops these qualities in the individual, so be it. The real question is, "Why do we allow our unloving animal natures, which are selfish and destructive, to have ascendency over our spiritual natures?" Evil isn't a mystery. We do harmful things to ourselves and others by being ignorant of how consciousness works and what Life, which is sacred, is really all about. It also comes down to how we value ourselves and others. Spiritual growth is the key. This is where our inspiration and power for goodness comes from.

Hi....
What??
Do you really think, that believing in a man-made fictitious deity, could ever solve mankind's problems!!??
It would only keep us from moving forward and Islam in particular, would probably move away from our Great Democratic system....
Instead would teach and control the people, with religiously deluded myths and lies!!!
