Why do people accept him? I am not trying to be mean, but it makes me curious when people accept God.
I am a Devout Roman Catholic who converted from Evangelical Christianity (sometimes goes under the name of Non-Denominational). I am 25 now, but I remember being 16 years old and seeing people accept Christ or "Get Saved" for many reasons. Some people did it for Girls, some did it because of their friends, and the list goes on. A lot of these people were my friends. When they hit university, some of them lost their faith.
Being a little bit wiser now than when I was 16, I think that those people were into God for what they could get out of it.
Some of my friends, who I love and respect the most, lost faith in God because of the fact that they had internal conflicts between religion and their life experiences. Experiences which suggested to them that there is no God.
The reasons are very many. Each person has a story to tell.

An undeveloped mind stuffed with propaganda!!
Firstly - the catholic church is the original church and you now belong to another denomination, sect or cult that has split from it!!!!
Secondly 10% of the world claim to be christian. The rest either follow other religions or are atheist. None reject god!!!
That is right - none reject god - they simply do not beleive in a god.
You are simply following someone elses dogma but when you say you are not saved it demonstrates that your intelligent, thinking mind is not accepting it.
Make your own mind up - please do not swallow human dogma!!!! Allow yourself to grow up and learn. Then you can research and look at the truth of the origins of christianity and then make your own mind up!!!!

People reject god becuse of the very reason they accept god and that reason is PROBLEMS. We all have problems and we are unable to get solutions so we pray to god hoping that problem will go.Atheists reject god as they had problems, they prayed to god and these problems were never solved so they stopped believing in god.My friend's mother had blood cancer ,he prayed to god everyday but WHAT CAN GOD DO WHEN HE DOESNT EXIST? and his mother died and he became an ATHEIST. A wise move indeed.God has never solved human problems,SCIENCE has ,so accept science as a god and stop believing in FAIRY TALES of heaven, hell and angels.

Some people just don't feel it like you do. I can not really reject something I have never felt a presence of in the first place, now can I?
As far as challenging his existence, well I would hope that everyone would look at both sides on the coin.

You type like you're 15. "well yay that was just some little background info..." Hopefully when you decide to actually study the book you have so much "faith" in you will come to know the real truth. Right now it appears as though you're not even sure what to believe. First you're catholic, now you're christian.

Religious concepts can indeed make one feel strong and be faithful and also brainwash the human mind.
Once hooked all contradictions from religion no longer contradictions but valid and one cannot see flaws.
That is when the mind is forever trapped. That is what human intelligence is all about. Very strange but true.

I have no problem with God. It's religion that messes things up. As a christian, you probably can't separate the two but challenging your beliefs is a good thing. You can't know the truths if you don't look for the answers.

You talk as if the existence of God is blatantly obvious. If anything his existence is anything but obvious. If you knew God existed why do you need to have faith. I'm not against God - I'm against willful ignorance drooling stupidity and self delusion. Coincidentally all of those things are synonymous with theism.

It might have escaped your notice but Catholics are Christians. You have just moved from one Christian sect to another. I don't reject gods, I just have no belief in them. There is no evidence for gods so it has to be a matter of faith. Either you believe they exist or you don't. You believe in a god, I don't.
There are about 2500 known named gods you don't believe in. I just disbelieve in one more than you.
