Here's my thought. We have a lot of church buildings, tons of Christian books and mega size conferences. I've been to some myself even worked for some huge ministries. But where is the power of God? Where is the love of Christ? Is the devil behind these shootings? Does it bother you that violence crossed the threshold of a church? What could prevent this if not prayer?

To jews, do you believe in One God ?

If you do believe in One God, what happens to the rest of the people who do not believe in your God?

Are you anti-euthanasia, too? Why/why not?
Equally, are you anti-capital punishment?
And just as a third, demographic thing: What do you consider your faith to be?

I worded the first question wrong, but am getting some great answers so I will keep it and word it correctly in this one.

I have not decided what I will drink yet as egg nog is milk and I really can't have milk due to it forming kidney stones and I usually don't drink alcohol products and did not make any non alocoholic mead.

I will probably eat ham and pancakes and jam for breakfast and dinner I plan on having turkey legs and a chocolate Yule log.

I may copy some of you all suggestions if you have some good ones.

1. All that has a beginning has an end, true or false?
2. Evolution is growth; thus the direction is towards death.
3. Science is nothing more; nothing less than understanding all which is around you, true or false?
4. Science in all it's existence has never affected existence itself. (Not meaning technology, but life itself.)
5. All the technology in the world doesn't change life's pattern, true or false?
6. Science exists through the existence of the Bible; thus science is just another attempt to prove the Bible wrong, true or false?
7. Nothing has ever proven the Bible wrong, because the Bible is universal and when it says one thing it also means the opposite of what it means in all directions of it's meaning.
8. All the science in the world will not save humans from the gap which is found when one no longer lives according to the Bible's belief (meaning one does not live a life pretending to be God; does not live a life pretending to be Satan) nor acting as such.
Lmfao, you

It is apparent that most Christians are unaware of any history before JC, historical or otherwise. The amount of answers in this forum is enough to support this statement, along with the most recent Sherri Shepard incident.
Most would see this as a symptom of, not a consequence to the teaching of Creationism. My question is: Is Creationism another attempt to erase evidence and prop up the Christian claim as the "supreme religion" and only source of knowledge for mankind?

So other that the fact that:

1) Women are treated like animals
2) People are said to have lived unimaginable durations of time and many other facts appear to be in contrast with what Science has prove.
3) Slavery was accepted
4) You were supposed to kill witches, people who commit adultery, homosexuals, people who have sex with a woman while she is on her period, your children if they disobeyed, anyone that worked on Sunday and, in general, anyone your loving God hated...

Why shouldn't people live their lives by the Bible? I mean really, can you think of a reason? Please put verses if possible. Thanks...

Surely your god knows what you are going to pray for beforehand - and has already decided on his course of action. Is it not absurd to think that you can persuade god to change his mind?

my hubby is catholic ( not really into it, but still has some beliefs) i was raised a JW all my life, ever since we moved in together we have decided to keep religion to ourselves, because we can never agree on some things. Now that the christmas season is coming up ( and i dont celebrate or believe in it) alot of situations are coming up that are causing some tense moments. Will we eventually find a way thru all this or is this going to be a life long fight??

My boyfriend was RAISED as a Jehovah's Witness but has been disfellowshipped long before me, but he still believes that the way he was raised to be "The Truth". I am 27 years old and am having a hard time even considering giving up my Holiday celebrations to appease him. I don't want my baby boy to miss out on all the fun family time I experienced as a child.

Can anyone give me verses that say we are not to celebrate Holidays or Birthdays?

Not only do the roots of this tradition have foundation in pagan beliefs, but the bible strictly forbids people from partaking in this ceremony. Why do you want to make God mad?

Why are we so quick to respond to the questions of our faith with such hostility. I understand that some of the questions are asked purely to antagonize us, but so what? Let them polk fun at us, we are blessed when they do.
But some of the questions may be asked out of curiousity, and no one will ask further if they are met with sarcasm and hostility. I am not trying to start a fight here, or throw stones, because not everyone is doing this. I'm asking if we can be above the negativity, and be the shining light?
All opions welcome.

everyone is getting ready for the christmas holidays. its a special time of year for everyone. but i believe that some people have forgotten the real reason behind christmas. our Lord and Savior was born on christmas. and we have all done so many things to put him aside. but im sure we will never forget what he did for us. he died for our sins. he took the punishment. so why are we still putting him aside? hes like the best friend that took the bullet for us. i for one believe that this year has been such a blessing to us and all the years before and to come. i believe that every breath we take is a blessing. its time we started putting God first and praying instead of getting even. he died for us so why not live for him! im not judging anyone and im not here to get big reviews. just people with opinions or thoughts. if u dont want to answer dont. if s feel free to. if u want to go against what im saying feel free to. but i love my Lord and im so glad he saved my soul!

I only saw >>>1<<< post in the Spanish dining out section even though there were 50 sections there.... How come the R&S section, which is very active, has only this one forum? Should we protest by unofficially making other sections our sub-sections? Like atheists get the Do It Yourself section of Home and Garden, Christians get the Performance Arts section of Arts and Humanities, Muslims get the Military section of Politics and Government. That way we may force Yahoo to give us sub-sections of our own instead of this huge disorganized forum.

Agree? Don't care? Ecuador for instance had only two posts the last time I checked but they get their own forum. Shouldn't the more active sections have more sub-sections? Does that not make sense?
