Greed and Christianity are factors that cancel one another out. The bible clearly tells us -

Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon [wealth].

Therefore, either a soul's heart will love God more than money or money more than God... So, if your heart belongs to your treasures [things] it cannot belong to God.

YES, it can coexist with the Pauline Gospel of blood for sin.

AND NO, it cannot coexist with the Original Kingdom Gospel that Jesus actually preached... about a "treasure hid in a field." No treasure without a change. You have to be transformed, and greed works against that transformation.

So yes and no. It all depends on which gospel you latch on to.

Only in word and not in deed. I think the definition of Christian is to be 'Christ-like.' Christ was not greedy, he was nomadic and lived off the graciousness of others. Similarly, Gandhi walked that walk. Look at Mother Theresa, not a greedy bone in her body. I am certain she died a pauper. The only thing she ever wanted more of was help for the needy and destitute. She is truly the ONLY modern day Christian that I look up to. She walked the walk, she talked the talk, she LIVED the life. If a 'Christian' wishes to be acknowledged in the ranks of these people and other individuals SUCH AS THESE, they best be taking lessons and not money!

Sure. Historically, they have coexisted. Look at Spain's conquest of the New World. These were Christians who came here seeking gold, silver and land. And they killed many natives to do just that.

Not supposed to but it seems awfully prevalent especially in America. New Testament is totally against greed and totally for charity. I think you can tell a true Christian by the way they act.

1) The mission of Christianity is to save sinners.

2) "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God"

3) Greed is a sin. One of the "seven deadlies" as a matter of fact.

You do the math.

Religion and greed - yes. Christianity and greed - no.

A Christian is a Christ-follower. Christ himself said that no one can serve two masters:
" You cannot serve both God and Money." Matthew 6
