Okay, so not all Christians get together on Saturdays and burn Harry Potter. It is only wackos who think that Harry Potter deserves firey death. However, I think I may have stumbled upon a "nice" sort of wacko, while searching for a comprehensive list of the effects of a Pokemon's Nature.

Maybe I'm wrong here, but most Christians I know enjoy Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and perhaps Pokemon-- QUIETLY. These people don't feel the need to find scripture in every single piece of media that they get their hands on.

Not so with this site, which seems convinced that Jesus is in everything from Anne Rice vampire books to The Princess Diaries.

Do you know anyone like this? Christians, do you feel that there is Scripture in everything?

From what I've heard, Islam is a religion of peace, so why is it when there are terrorists, they always say there ways are supported by their religion, and therefore labled muslim extremeists? You never hear of Christian extremeists or Atheist extremeists.

I dont study Islam and I don't hate Islam, just wondering the answers to my question above.

I'm not so familiar with civilizations or religions prior to Judaism, but I have to do a group on the contributions that Judaism made to the world or other religions. I was thinking about down that Judaism actually encouraged humans to read God's word through scriptures or writings and try their best to obey God by doing so. I ws wondering if that is true and appropriate to put down a contribution.

Stained glass windows keep the cold outside
While the hypocrites hide inside
With the lies of statues in their minds
Where the Christian religion made them blind
Where they hide
And prey to the God of a ***** spelled backwards is dog
Not for one race, one creed, one world
But for money, effective, absurd

Do you pray to the Holy Ghost when you suck your host?
Do you read who's dead in the Irish Post?
Do you give away the cash you cant afford?
On bended knees and pray to Lord?

Fat pig priest, sanctimonious smiles
He takes the money, you take the lies
This is religion and Jesus Christ
This is religion cheaply priced
This is Bibles full of libel
This is sin in eternal hymn
This is what they've done
This is your religion
The apostles were eleven
Now there's a sod in Heaven

This is religion
There's a liar on the altar
The sermon never falters
This is religion
Your religion.

Why the heck do people still believe in religion and God? I am not an atheist; I'm agnostic because, obviously, we don't know much at all about the universe and how we were created. It's stupid to come up with an answer when we haven't got a definitive one. So I ask those of you who believe in God: why are you so sure? Yes, clearly there was something or another that created everything, but that doesn't mean it was supernatural or God. If you are so sure that your religion is correct, then I laugh at you and everyone else who is so sure that THEY are right. There's absolutely no proof behind Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, or other religions. If you're going to cite your religious text to say that that's why you're right, then think about how likely it is that it isn't mythology. Regardless, NO ONE has the correct answer to how we were created, and to claim so is silly. Why do people believe in such a silly and obscure tradition? We're no longer in the Dark Ages.

Just kind of curious what other Christians think about this. I personally am non-denominational but basically Pentecostal. However I feel I could go to any Christian church regardless of denomination and worship. Whether it were baptist, methodist, catholic, or any other Christian church. To me as long as they serve Jesus that is the important part. Do the other Christians here agree with me?

People who think like that have political positions in our government.

How scary is that?

How can we change that.?

How can we return to what was intended by our forefathers, the SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE?

I believe we have to get out and VOTE!!!

Agree/disagree?

Part of a recent reply stated " It's just that to accept God you must learn not to ask questions." Is that how people are convinced to believe the blatant nonsense in the bible?

I'm doing a project on confessing and I myself am not Catholic I just go to a Catholic school. We got this hand out on confessing but it's slightly confusing and I can't tell the order in which it goes. So any steps you can tell me about why confession is good and the steps to doing it including the prayers would be good! THanks!

Mostly based upon basic astronomy, and astrology.. they've just turned the zodiac into a fable is all they have done. What's the most important thing in the zodiac? The SUN of course, same as Christianity except they've turned it into the son.

Seriously people, buy a clue. This is why the church persecuted people like Galileo, he was an astronomer, and he figured the scam out. It's not just Christianity, it's every religion. I was just wondering if you all knew this?

Let me get this straight: Because I can't prove that there's nobody stalking me with a sniper rifle, that's reason enough to wear a Kevlar jacket and helmet everywhere I go?

THAT'S the way to decide what you're going to believe -- on the basis of unfounded paranoid fantasy?

I know some people are that good people, but they do not have a relationship with Jesus.

They say they have no reason to believe in God. This makes me sad. I know that is their decision and I do not preach to them. I just try to be a good example, but it does trouble me.

I believe the only way to avoid Hell is to be a Christian. If you do not accept Jesus, then His sacrifice is in vain.

I know God wants these people to believe, but they set up a mental roadblock. One of my friends said there is no scientific evidence to be a Christian over any other religion. He is missing the point. You have to have faith. Scientific evidence only gets you so far. For one thing, science is always changing and can only teach us so much. You need to use your heart to decide the real truth and the Holy Spirit will let you know for a fact that Jesus is your Savior.

It troubles me to know people that have turned away from God. Has anyone else had friends like this?

My pastor just said that we should try to put our hearts into unison with jesus christ. But i thought that, that could never happen because jesus christ is too pure, which would mean that we will have our limits as to how close we can be with jesus christ. What are those limits?

I remember learning in Sunday school that each gift represented something that God has given us...

I know that the partridge in the pear tree is Jesus on the cross... and the 2 Turtle doves are the old and new testament, and the 4 calling birds are the 4 gospels. But I can't remember anything else. Does anyone here know? Thank you!

"No baby is innocent" with their silly beliefs, as if.

Where's the logic? Baby = New = didn't do anything wrong = sinner because of "original sin" some 2000 year old crap probably used to justify murdering babies in those times.

In my logical world, Babies are innocent, pure, and ANY loving god would judge them on what THEY do and not what some other people did how ever many years ago... I'm sorry your god hasn't got a big enough brain to understand that we are different people and so we don't act on behalf of innocent people.

"Original sin" what a load of crap.

and have a bunch of them removed? Grrr! I think I know who it is too. Anyhow, is this a way to get someones user name booted for good on here? Enough questions removed and then you are gone?

I hear alot about it on this section, so Im sure one of you knows out there. I had to hide everything and lose all my fans to protect my account. If a bunch of deleted questions will not get me booted, Ill open my fans back and up; any ideas on the best way to handle it? Thanks :)
