Part of a recent reply stated " It's just that to accept God you must learn not to ask questions." Is that how people are convinced to believe the blatant nonsense in the bible?

For the record, that is not how I am convinced the Bible is true, and I have a far different perspective of it than most other christians.

No religious belief of any religion can stand up to careful questioning . Questions can't be understandably and intelligently answered . The only possible recourse is ," Don't ask questions , just believe blindly , because it's in this book that was written by superstitious goat herders two thousand years ago " .

I'm sure that's not every Christian's perspective-- some Christians actually make science up (read: creationists).
However, it would explain a lot if this was true for some people.

That is not true! Jesus encouraged people to ask questions.

Please tell me what is so nonsensical about treating others as you want to be treated. How is that wrong?

What is wrong about not murdering people, stealing from them, lying about them. cheating them, being unfaithful to your spouse/partner?

Yes they believe questioning god or "gods word" is a sin. Religions are the oldest form of mind control.

of course it doesn't make sense to you because you are of the world and not of the kingdom of God. You can ask all the questions you want to, but i suggest you also study the word and be serious and sincere about it then the Holy Spirit will remove the scales from your eyes and show you the truth....
