Mostly based upon basic astronomy, and astrology.. they've just turned the zodiac into a fable is all they have done. What's the most important thing in the zodiac? The SUN of course, same as Christianity except they've turned it into the son.

Seriously people, buy a clue. This is why the church persecuted people like Galileo, he was an astronomer, and he figured the scam out. It's not just Christianity, it's every religion. I was just wondering if you all knew this?

and its ppl like u who persecute those with faith. Its not about Jesus its about the trinity, The father(God), the holy spirit, (his omniscience), and the son (Jesus).

im trying 2 inform u of the basics. personally i believe its "how" u believe, not what u believe.

ill give 2 clues, "not wanting to b born is never an excuse"
and if u dont believe in God the best u can hope 4 is a trial to explain yourself using science. (So good luck i got a degree so i can tell u its vast.)

u r talking about organized religon. I personally have my probs w/ it, but if your better creat your own. Faith man. believe in the unproven. Also there are eastern zodiacs too. they arent based on the son but a fable, its less believable but if it never worked it wouldnt be around today like the 'Shakers' of colonial america. So dont try to figure out religon on that scale cuz it takes too much time. Just like science ppl have spent lives on it so u dont have too.

intelligent design is crap. Evolution itself is intelligent design. if u cant keep up u wont procreate. u've just been erased(selected against)

Well, they are more than that, as they include moral precepts as well.

And the fables aren't based only on natural occurences, but on symbolism and metaphor.

They also include rituals, which even some unbelievers want to keep.

You've over-simplified a complex thing.

After all, if they were just fables, they wouldn't cause so many problems, would they?

Not so sure about the astronomy thing, but have you read the book of revelations? After the reading that book, I became convinced that the book wasn't meant to be much more than a social critique of the time of period. I mean, although the God character pops a lot, most of the stories, allegories as some call them, along with the divine laws, just seem to be the writer's attempts to take jabs at the behavior of people that he disagreed with. It is a massive social satire!

God isn't up there in the sky, or the stars. God is inside each and every one of us. Sometimes we find Him. Sometimes He finds us.

The current religions don't talk about the zodiac. It goes back to polytheism where the various gods found places in the sky. Astrologers use the planets and signs of the zodiac as a framework for psychological counseling of their clients. If it works for you, fine; but it isn't astronomy which is a science.

Wow, I'm impressed! In two short paragraphs, you have reduced the learning of centuries, the entire works of great philosophers, and the teachings of wise theologians to some silly sophistry about personal experiences and natural occurrences.

In fact, I think you're a strong contender for R&S's "Chutzpah of the Day" Award for creatively blending arrogance and ignorance.
