Just kind of curious what other Christians think about this. I personally am non-denominational but basically Pentecostal. However I feel I could go to any Christian church regardless of denomination and worship. Whether it were baptist, methodist, catholic, or any other Christian church. To me as long as they serve Jesus that is the important part. Do the other Christians here agree with me?

Peter Priesthood M&M - I do not believe mormons or JW's are Christians. Thus though denominations are not relevant to the question at hand.

I do, and I have. As the only Catholic in a large extended family of evangelicals, when I visit them I'm pleased to worship and fellowship at their churches ... and some also accompany me to Mass. It certainly brings home to all concerned that we serve one Savior, one Lord.

I'm with you. I used to be Pentecostal, for a long time. Now I'm Non-denominational, but still have alot of the Pentecostal beliefs (like Spiritual gifts, and others). I'm usually pretty good about getting along with everyone and being able to love and worship God anywhere. I remember a great friend once told me, "God doesn't care what religion you are or where you went to church. He cares about your heart, and in the end all that matters is if you have given it to Him or not."

Yes i agree - i could go to any church and worship God - and i have been to many church fellowships - but i much prefer freedom to worship the way i choose - which is Pentecostal.
I am having a rest from meetings at the moment - and i don't know what's going to happen in the future - but i do prefer to worship in a church like Elim - or similar to Hillsong - or anywhere God is moving.
EDIT: I think Edge means only Christian denomanations - this excludes JW's and Mormons - who are not Christians - if i'm wrong Edge please correct me.

Lisa V----shame on your new priests for giving you Communion. For those to whom much is given---much is expected. In the Catholic Church we are given the true body of Christ and you do not believe nor care. Worshiping God in the way HE prescribes is not something for us to determine is good or bad it is RIGHT. We do not have the authority to decide that one Church or the other dings our religion bell more than another. The Catholic Church and the Catholic religion is the Church that contains the rites that HE wants to be worshiped by and not by what makes us feel good.
The Pre Vatican II stuff---doesn't fly either. The faith is the same post or pre, some clergy felt they had liturgical license to try to steal away the reverence from the Mass and the Vatican recognizes the abuses and are going back to a more genuine format and if that means without people who do not believe that Jesus is really and truly present there---then so be it.

I agree to some extent. I do feel though, that there are Christian churches that do not give the full gospel. I also have a hard time with manifestations of the Spirit. I am not sure that they are from god...I still have much to learn, andGgod reveals truth to me though worship and study. do not rely any more on man to tell me what to think.

Jesus' criteria for true worship is that it be in spirit and in truth:
John 4:23: "Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks."
Pentecostal organizations often demonstrate a Christian spirit. One key indication is that they reject popular sins like abortion and sexual immorality.
The problem is finding worship that is truthful. That requires better biblical interpretation than is usually found in Pentecostal churches, hampered as they are by sola scriptura and rejection of the interpretative authority Jesus granted to his original Church (Matt 16:18, 18:18).
Too, Jesus authorized seven sacraments, including the Eucharist. Without eating the Bread of Life, we have no life.
John 6:53: Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you."
Cheers,
Bruce

I also attend the non-denominational Christian church, but I do not mind visiting other churches that teach the Bible truth. The main thing is that we serve Jesus.

I worship wherever I am being spiritually feed. I was raised Catholic and have been in the past 20 years going to various Protestant churches. I feel welcome in any church including the catholic church I went to yesterday for a memorial service.
I have yet been in a Christian church that I did not walk a way with a message for my life.
I will never forget an old priest from my old parrish saw me and said "why havent I seen you in church lately, what parrish do you go to now?" I then told him I was going to an Evangelical Congregational Church and he told me that
"he will pray for my soul as it burns in the flames of hell" hehe the old priests "pre vatican 2" just don't get it. My retort was I will pray for his too!
But the new priests of my old parrish church has never refused me communion and they know I worship mainly in a protestant church.
Blessings,
Lisa

Yeah, I could see myself going to any church, as long as the people are nice.

So you would be willing to go to a Mormon church? Or are they not Christian? And if you've never been to a Mormon church...then how do you know what they really believe? Because of all the websites out there that make stuff up??

Yes. I do agree with you.
Jesus didn't promote any religion to be above any,.. He instead taught us to LOVE, God and our neighbors.
In worship, He taught us how to pray,... He taught us to meditate, how to give thanks, how to ask for forgiveness and how to ask for supplications. He taught us not to be self-righteous. He taught us to be humble. He taught us not to condemn. He taught us how to forgive. ... He has taught us a lot of things,.. showing us the way, the truth and the light.... He taught us how to be Himself (Christlike).
And as he said, Thru Him is the only way to the Father. And so it shall be. It is the most important part of our worhip, knowing that Christ is Lord.
Therefore in whatever way we may worship Him is fine, as long as we serve the Lord.
I am a Christian - from the Catholic faith.
