It shouldn't be an issue unless it's going to affect their ability to be impartial, and the jury selection process should weed that out.

The point of the jury is to have people with different backgrounds and beliefs to create an overall balanced jury. If you take these out, a large part of the population is not represented, along with these ideas.

A jury of your peers. Peers include people with strong religious beliefs.

If we had more righteous people in our government offices and in our juridisial system it would be a lot better world but that is not the case. We have some of the worst of the worst with authority and power right now controlling us, or trying too! Thomas Jefferson said that if the people had a revolution every ten years since "we are the people", the government would be working us, the people. That is food for thought..............................

That depends on the situation. If a pagan is accused of commiting a crime, I don't think it would be a good idea to have a Christian on the jury who thinks pagans are the root of all evil.

I believe the process of excluding people should lie in the hands of the lawyers at each and every trial and not in excluding them from the "Pool" to begin with. Have a great week.

they exclude people who cannot be impartial. That should cover religious beliefs as well as moral, etc.
