Well, it's a very old Persian(Iran) religion. It's based on the ideas of Zoroaster, who lived around 600 BC. It has figures very similar to Christianity, like hell, an anti-christ figure, and it was one of the first monotheistic religion(2nd after Judaism, I believe.) Now, as for converting, I would research into it more. If you think this is the right religion for you, then accept it. However, joining a group of Zoroastrians might be hard, it's not a very common religion.

Zoroaster: ' Owner of Feeble Camels '
Zoroaster; synonym Zarathustra, claimed to be the prophet who wasto further the message of the one god who created all things: Ahura Mazda ( Wise Lord ) . No rotary engine was mentioned in my research.
Salvation: A simple form of Salvation by good deeds. Those that are a part of the ' good people ' to Zoroaster they were those that accepted the true religion, evil were those that rejected it. Zoroaster preached that the evil people that did not accept this religion were to be ' resist them with the weapon! ' It is evil to help those that are bad, to do them favors, or to give them gifts. ( cf. Luke 6:33 )
There are a few instances of what 'being good' is supposed to be ; be kind to animals, always tell the truth, grow crops from the ground ( the evil have no agriculture ) , don't be a marauding nomad ( they are the worst of evil men ) , don't listen to daevas ( the worst of evil spirits other than Angra Mainyu ) , don't use hallucinogenic drugs and worship like the priests that drink hoama-juice, don't drink the urine from the priests that have taken hoama-juice,
" When wilt thou do away with the urine of drunkeness with which the priests delude the people?"

The last day includes a general Resurrection at the end of the present world order ( whatever that is ) and the good and the evil will be subjected to fire and molten metal that the world will become. The evil will be made apparent by their terrible burning, but the righteous will find it all harmless, as soft and healing as milk. It is unclear by the Gathas , or Hymns of Zoroaster, the picture is not clearly defined what will then happen to the evil, though there is mention of an abyss called the " Abode of Lies. "

Individual judgement follows shortly after death, the state of the soul remains fixed until the general resurrection at the end of the world. Each person is judged at the Bridge of the Separator ( the Chinvat Bridge ) , which spans the abyss of Hell and it's farther end opens up on Paradise. The record of the soulsd is read at the Bridge. The balance of merits and demerits is cast. If you're found more good than evil in deeds, the pointing hand ( not clear whose pointing hand ) will be towards Paradise
( no indication of letting someone go ahead of you in line counts as a good deed! :lol ) . If evil overbalances good
( :( ) the hand will point to the abyss below the bridge. The evil will find ' themselves in no case able to go beyond it's center. '

Quote:
" Their Soul and their own Self [ daena ] shall torment them when they come to the Bridge of the Separator. To all time will they be guests for the House of the Lie. "

The righteous will dwell on the House of Song. ' The Best Existence, " the abode of the ' best thought. ' There the sun shines forever, and the righteous enjoy spiritual bliss, and they are happy in their ever-joyous companionship.

Zoroaster died at the hands of nomads when Zoroaster was seventy seven. This took place after two religious wars took place in the attempt to spread the faith.

Zoroastrianism Zoroastrianism is the religion and philosophy based on the classes ascribed to the prophet Zoroaster (Zarathustra, Zartosht). Wow, thanks for this question and also the Wikipedia responses and other positive thoughts. I had no idea that Zoroastrianism has so many beliefs in common with me.

Truth is true... whatever the earthly source. It all comes from God.

We just have to sift through it, to find what rings true in our hearts. It's not "all or nothing." There is beautiful and deep truth in every religion. God speaks to us from within our hearts... warmth, peace, love... that is Him speaking. I hear Him in some of the words of this ancient Iranian prophet.

Why would not a loving God send true prophets to every nation on earth, and in every period of time?

He L O V E S us.

Its one of the first, if not THE first, monotheistic religions with concepts of heaven and hell and god and an opposite counterpart.
An interesting part of zoroastrianism is that almost any denomination will not accept converts at all, you have to be born into it.

Zoroastrianism is the oldest of the revealed world-religions, and it has probably had more influence on mankind, directly and indirectly, than any other single faith. You will find out more with a search in yahoo or any other search engine

I do know that Freddy Mercury (of the rock group Queen) was a follower of Zoroastrianism and that they believe in absolute duality. God/Satan are equal - light/dark, etc.
