ummmm excuse me Christians, how the Hell would that even be possible. How can I stop someone from praying or saying that pledge on school grounds? HELLO!!!!! I CAN'T. You can pray your little heads off and scream the pledge until your blue in the face and no on can stop you. All the government has done is outlawed schools from showing favoritism to a certain religion. They have not taken away your right to pray or say the pledge in schools. Do it all you want. I don't care.

Heaven is Love without the ego
Nirvana is Bliss without the self.

Why are those two ideas so mutually exclusive? I understand that Buddha received Enlightenment as a state of nothingness. Perhaps Love was and still is non-existent but brought itself into being?

Can something be non-existent and have a state of being at the same time?

Jesus said: "Say to them, we are beings of light from a place where light brought itself into being?"

Also, St. Genoa wrote that Heaven is nothing more than an exchange of love between the saint and the creator? Or does the self have to be infinitely small to be in a state of both nirvana and heaven? Perhaps the Buddhist view is not so different from the Christian heaven afterall?

My question is intended for people who know about both religions.

Withstanding the test of time shows that Christianity has merit to it. However, it doesn't prove that God is real but rather that belief, faith and following good moral guidance has helped people? Agree?

Most of the descriptions I've heard about the hear after all sound like hell to me.....
well i think quite certainly i'd get tired of existing forever no matter how comfortable.
Also i always hear about how theres no hate, ego, fear,etc.
why would i want that all of that is part of who i am!!
I'm really not interested in 72 virgins hell I could get that here if i wanted
and lastly if i have to spend eternity watching others live their lives well hell i think i'd perfer oblivion!

Or does Islamic Law trump US law? The "prophet" Muhammad, of course, was a murderer, a child molester, and a highway robber who was illiterate and of very limited intelligence.

who hasn't emailed me in over a month. I sent him about five or so emails, but haven't heard from him in over a month now. It's not like him not to email me after this long. He is in another country right now (last I heard from him, he was) and he's working behind the scenes on a movie shoot. I don't want to flood his inbox with any more emails, but I don't know what else to do. I'm worried that something is wrong. Every day that goes by that I don't hear from him, I get more and more worried and uneasy. He's my friend and I care very much about him, but not sure what to do to in this situation. I'm not sure if it's something I said that may have offended him (not intentionally, of course) or if he's sick or just plain overwhelmed with work. I'm not sure what the reason is that he hasn't replied to me. What would you do - email him again or wait a little longer to see if he replies?

but think that the polarity of Hell would be ungodly?...seems equal to me. Why accept the gifts as not being outragious, but believe that the punnishment is outrageous...Just thinking out loud, I havn't decided where I fall on this issue, yet.

Be honest, do you think there are any positives to it or is it all a bunch of useless nonsensical bull$#!T?

To me the only good thing Ive seen to come because of it are the first two albums from Lifehouse. The songs were more faith based but are open for interpretation. And I must say, even if I didnt quite agree with the singers inspiration for writing the songs(god obviously), the songs were quite good and didnt have "lord" or "god" in them so you could interpret them as you pleased.
