Great question. The incredibly limited and simple-minded descriptions of heaven by religious people are yet another sure proof that religion is a pathetic man-made belief system based on fear, greed, and wishful thinking.

Look man I think the afterlife is possible.
Practically it sounds awful but in MY country i.e. Nepal we have so many incidents which somewhat prove that the theory is somewhat true.
It is said that a boy was born in some village and when he was able to speak he spoke of a place. When his parents tracked down the village, the boy took the parents to a house where there was nobody. I mean to say it was vacant.
Thenafter, the boy started telling that house belonged to him and called himself to be a person that once lived sometime ago on the same house. Parents couldnot believe what they heard and enquired with some villagers and whatever the boy told about his past happened to be true.
And the boy still lives in some sacred place near capital city kathmandu, Nepal.
If u wish to meet the person by urself u might pay a visit to Nepal and I'm sure u wont miss the guy.

well...there are 2 options:
eternal life with God/Jesus/Holy Spirit (Heaven). this will give eternal peace, joy, love, and goodness. you will be given a new body in Heaven, and you will worship God for all eternity. main events in your eternity would include worshiping God, fellowshipping with other people and angels in heaven, and having great feasts prepared by God. other than that, the Bible does not offer many other details. however, it is called "eternal paradise" so i imagine it would be fun and you would never get tired of it.
eternal life with Satan/Lucifer. You will spend eternity in Hell (it has a negative connotation and i believe it is, but God gives all people a choice of where to spend eternity). it will be a place with sin, and you will be able to do whatever you want. Im pretty sure there is some fire and pain, and stuff like that too. A friend of mine described it like a place where you can sin and do all you want, but it never truly fullfills you. of course, if you love to do the "bad" things of this earth (rape/murder/ect) then you can do all of these things here.
i would VERY strongly reccommend that you choose Heaven over Hell. But, in the end it is your choice. some people just done like worshipping God. some people would actually be happier in Hell because it does not force them to obey God's rules.
well, let me know if u need extra info =D and i hope u choose Heaven so i can see you there!

At year 2513, Moses was at Exodus, 3560 years ago at 2007 after Christ, the bible has been in circulation in the world 396 years, if Adam would be age 6073.
Rev.20:1-6,12,13; Jesus will reign 1000 years to make all as new as before Eden.
So we have 7073 years accounted for after Eden. This is not age of earth.
Eph.2:7; 3:21; The world with Jesus is without end. John 3:16; 17:3,17;
2pet.3:13; Isa.65:17; Rev.21:1-5; 1Cor.15:22-28,51-53; The resurrected all the way back to Abel. All is made as new and perfect as before Eden.

You should look into Flying Spaghetti Monsterism. According to the FSM folks, THEIR heaven has a stripper factory and beer volcanos.
You may still end up existing for ever, but look at the perks! You can have a great afterlife, and if you take up mountain climbing, you won't care about being around for eternity...
Think about it.

Perhaps...Life is just about learning so that we can move on. Those who take life's lessons in, grow and USE those lessons in life, then they move on and become one with the universe, or the higher power, or god or whatever.
Those who choose not to listen to the lessons in life will continue to repeat their mistakes in this life and there next lives (yes I'm talkin reincarnation).
I beleive in spirits as I have witnessed them first hand, we all have choices in this life, our lives are what we make them, I think that some spirits are angry still with the physical and "haunt", others visit in between transitions and others are all ready "one" and aid those who are living and in transition.
I also think that when you do move forward, that we are not just sitting around continuing life as we know it only partially invisable...lol...rather, what comes after this, although we continue, it is in a much different way, conected with everything and everyone.
I don't think it is ment to be understood until we are there.
Just a thought!

Read up on Valhalla. You get to drink mead and eat boar all night and fight all day. Pretty exciting. Not my idea of a good time, but I'm not oathed to Odin either. Then again, the gods in general are pretty exciting. They are not a dull bunch by a long shot.
Hail Odin!

Many of the Afterlife descriptions found in the Ethnic Religions of Europe (such as Asatru or Hellenic Polytheism) are not boring.... The Norse view of the afterlife for the worthy is one of feasting, fighting and other forms of partying.....

Well, how about dead? Rotting in the ground. Then, you won't have to worry about anything. But that isn't really an afterlife... OK, I guess it is, because it is after your life.
Or you could get reincarnated. I hear if you're good, you get reincarnated as something way cool!
You could always be a ghost too -- now THAT sounds like fun. Just stay out of my room at night. That is ME time.

I will say this: I do not believe that "eternity" means millions of billions of trillions of zillions of years ad infinitum... I believe it means the absence of time, or perhaps more accurately, the absence of the meaning of time.
Time is a creation of God. In this life, it has an obvious purpose - to help us mark our march from birth to death.
But in heaven for the Christian, there is no death. I believe it will be more like one of those perfect days we've all had where in reality many hours had passed, but it seemed like just minutes to us, and we really want more. We won't get tired or sleepy, so I just envision this notion of a timeless moment of perfection with God where more of Him will never be enough and where we will never reach the end of, nor grow bored or tired of His majesty as it unfolds before us.
