Where in the Quran does it state that Muslims are to believe in equality? My friend that is supposedly a Muslim constantly talks bad about Jews. Any passages on the avoidance of being racist, unfair, etc? Thank you in advance.

"O mankind! Be careful of your duty to your Lord who created you from a single soul and from its mate; and from the two of them He spread abroad a multitude of men and women" [Al-Qur'an 4:1]
"O mankind! We have created you male and female, and have made you nations and tribes that you may know each other. The noblest of you, in the sight of Allah(1), is the best in conduct" [Al-Qur'an 49:13]
There isn't anything that specifically tells people not to be racist because it is assumed that people already know that. The above is saying all people are one big family.

Excuse me? Where you got the notion of equality in Islam from? The Quran teaches that the Christians are the led astray and the Jews are the frown upon.
Also read chapter 9 in the Quran it will show you that the Quran teach clearly to fight and kill infidels, Christians and Jews.

Muslims believe that all people are equal - UNDER ISLAM. You have to be a Muslim to be considered equal to their lot. Even the "People of the Book" are considered second class "dhimmis" who are forced to live in subjugation alongside other muslims until they convert.
Even Osama bin Laden said that if Bush converted to Islam that he would no longer fight him because his work would be done here. Their goal is nothing less than to establish a world-wide caliphate. Can you imagine a world under sharia law? Life would not be worth living.

The Prophet (s) is reported as to having said: * "There is no superiority of the white over the black, nor of the black over the white". In Islam, all are equal; only one who is more righteous is better in the sight of God, and God alone will decide who is really righteous.
Once, a funeral passed by prophet muhammad whil he was sitiing. he stood up as a mark of respect. people around him said "why are u standing? its only a jew's funeral" to which the prophet repiled "does he not have a soul?"
This shows that we must respect people and not humilate them.
God says in the Qur'an "Verily, we have honoured the children of adam'
Who are the children of adam?? They are not muslims, they are ALL HUMANS!!
Thus, islam believs in EQUALITY.

no offences, i guess your friend has bad personality. He/She is not supposed to talk bad about Jews. As a Muslim, he/she should respect his/her friends' religions (means you). He/She just wants to 'enlighten' you about 'how much wrong your religion is in his/her perspectives'. its kinda childish to act this way.
ignore him/her. Islam has taught me that respecting non-Muslims is important in order to prevent non-Muslims feel bad about Islam.

Jews are condemnd because of their deeds not for race.
read this.
49:13 O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things).

Islam has a lot of anti-Semitism in it. If you like challenge your friend on it it probably won't be through Koran or Hadith verses. Sorry.
