Unfortunately yes. So many churches are willing to do or say anything in order to increase their membership. The word of God is not about numbers of members, but about the truth.
From some of the other answers I see there are some seriously misinformed people out there. God is a God of love, but God still holds people accountable. The Greek word used in scripture that is translated into the English word love; has a meaning somewhat different than we associate with love. It is the Greek word Agape; an unconditional love, but also a love of accountability.

the Bible speaks in symbolic terms so much. I know that Our Father is a loving God but he is also a God of great anger. So I do think that their is a place for wicked people and it even speaks of this in the bible so I do believe in hell. what will hell be? I don't know. Will it be fire and brimstone? I don't think god lies to us. I also know that Jesus was in the grave for three days and three nights. Jesus called this Hell or Hades. So maybe the grave is hell. I don't know what God thinks all the time but I do know that God didn't mess around with Pharaoh in the Bible when he would not turn from his wicked ways and let God's people go. So Pharaoh was killed in the end by God. Thank you and God Bless You.

I will stand up for you also. I believe your heaven and hell is right here now on this earth. Remember Jesus said that the kingdom of God is with in you and no one can take that a way.

I think that is one big reason why some self claimed Christians are not scared of spreading the false message, because in worst case scenario they end up in grave.

Many of them are fine with not going to heaven, and they settle for the earth.

God really offers better than that.

Actually, I've always thought of Hell as an organized religion's attempt to control its congregation.

JW's are not the only denomination that believes the doctrine of eternal torment is a false doctrine. I've studied the bible myself and find eternal torment to be completely false and a total mis-representation of God's character and the fate of the wicked. If you need a starting point, I suggest starting with whether the bible tells us man is mortal or immortal, body or soul.

There is no organization behind the belief that there is no hell. There are even a lot of Christians who don't believe in it. Some of us simply believe that a God who condemns people to hell lies when he says he is a God of love and therefore is not worthy of worship.
