Well he may have not been born on that day since there is no proven evidence ( since that is all you guys go by) But that is the day we celebrate his birth. We give gifts because the wise men brough jesus gifts. It doesnt matter when the lord was born, that is when we celebrate it. I am sure everyone around the Globe celebrates christmas differently. To me it is a celebration of the birth of christ no matter what anyone else says.
Why on earth does it have to be such a big deal? Aren't there better things to worry about than how christmas came about?

I think people need to get over the whole pagan issue.
Do you investigate the possible roots and history of everything you do, go to, eat, before you do it?
People cant criticize christians that dont want to celebrate halloween because of possible pagan connections and then turn around and tell them they shouldnt celebrate Christmas because of possible pagan connections. That isnt very consistent. Either the history or origins dont matter or they do. Pick one.
I pick they dont matter because I dont celebrate Christmas for pagan reasons so who cares.
Pagans NEVER celebrated a holiday known as Christmas. Christians started a brand new holidays and incorporated pagan traditions.
Is Kwanzaa just a morphing of Christmas???? Or is it a brand new different holiday?
I figured the same type of question deserved the same exact answer.
Sooooo do you celebrate your birthday ever on the day you werent born? Friends ever wanted to take you out the day after? Did you say, no way, it isnt my birthday so I have no right celebrating it the day after?

It doesn't say anything about December 25th being the birth day of Jesus in the Bible. It just says in the Bible that Jesus was born in the manager but it doesn't say the actual date that it happened.

There is a verse that tells us that the shepherds were watching their sheep in the fields. To my understanding, the fields are too cold in late December to have sheep out there. Jesus was probably born in Sept or Oct. All in all though, being born isn't that big a deal. We've all done it. He rose from the dead on Sunday morning though and that is a big deal. That's why I follow Him, not because we have a day off work in December.....

Most educated Christians will tell you that they are aware that the 25th is not the day Jesus was born. It's rather obvious in the Bible that he wasn't born in the winter.
No one else is celebrating Jesus's birth. Christmas, the celebration, is Christian. They just borrowed the date. Really, as a pagan, I don't care. It doesn't take away from Yule in the least.

Quite right - there's no Scriptural basis for Christmas - a man made tradition taking over Saturnalia. Increasingly celebrated without much reference to Christ except in the name. Many Christians still treat it as a celebration of his birth and it still remains rather unique, doesn't it?

that question is just as justifiable as any question ask on this forum....... even yours....... and Christmas is up to each individual and what they believe I guess....... No the Bible does not tell us the date of Jesus birth..... I myself believe it was in the spring time..... I do however celebrate the time with family and do remember Jesus at that time, not really for being born on that day but for the fact he was...... I am more concerned with his death, burial and ressurection, after all that is what salvation is all about, believing those 3 things.......go in peace....... God bless

I'd like to see people's answers on this one.
As with many Christian holidays you can go back and see the original pagan holiday like Winter Solstice (a few days earlier than the 25th).
(I'm not christian, pagan, or wiccan - I'm just pointing that out)
