ummmm excuse me Christians, how the Hell would that even be possible. How can I stop someone from praying or saying that pledge on school grounds? HELLO!!!!! I CAN'T. You can pray your little heads off and scream the pledge until your blue in the face and no on can stop you. All the government has done is outlawed schools from showing favoritism to a certain religion. They have not taken away your right to pray or say the pledge in schools. Do it all you want. I don't care.

We are talking about a culture change. A long time ago when I was in school we started each day with prayer and the pledge. The prayer was not about Jesus then it was a simple Help us to be safe and do our best to learn today. The pledge help us all to realize although there are things wrong with our government that many in our families gave up their lives to protect us all and give us what freedoms we have today. It inspired a sense of pride in our country and yes it is a shame if today's children do not have the same opportunity.

Exactly! I'm so tired of hearing how these have been removed from school or that their kids aren't allowed to pray, which is nonsense.

bigr3dtarget - this country is Democratic. If we don't like something about it, we VOTE on it. That's the whole point to Democracy.

Ever notice how people say if you don't like it, leave? Though bigr3d here doesn't say in his reply, I have noticed that a lot of people who say that, support giving Democracy to other countries........

Taking out prayer makes sense, but whats so bad about the pledge. I'm agnostic, but I'm not afraid of saying one nation under god. What the hell does it hurt.

And if parents really want prayer to be involved in their children's school, they can enroll them in a private religious school, rather than public schools. It wouldn't be fair to all the children of all different religions who go to public school to be forced to say a prayer every day.

I never understood the argument on this one either. No one has ever outlawed prayer in schools.
