But almost everytime he gives me a sign, hes giving me a different anwser. one time its a 'yes', the other time its a 'no', and another time he gives no answer. Why is this happening? have i ask too many times? Does he not want to tell me? is he testing me to see if im still gonna keep my hope and faith? i really dont get this. do you guys have any idea?

Suppose a bunch of your friends made you angry and they asked you for forgiveness. You told them, "Alright, I'll forgive you all, but you will have to kill your dogs as a sacrifice for me."

So one of them asked, "How does killing my dog has anything to do with forgiveness?"

You said, "Well, by killing your beloved dog, you are all showing me that I am greater than your dog."

Later on, because you loved your friends so much, you told them that this time you will sacrifice your own dog in order to be able to forgive them. (This should make perfect sense for a Christian)

So one of them asked, "How does sacrificing your own dog have anything to do with forgiving us?"

You replied, "Well after I have killed my dog I will suddenly have the power to forgive....and..."

Before you could finish your sentence, one of your friends stepped up to answer instead, "Well, by killing your beloved dog, you are showing us that we are greater than your dog."

One night, when you are out getting the mail, someone rapes and murders you brutally. When you die, you are taken to heaven to spend eternity with Jesus. Some time later, you meet the assailant in heaven.

You learn that he was caught and convicted. Five minutes before his death, he remembered all he had learned about Jesus in his childhood Bible readings. He begs for forgiveness just as the switch is pulled on the electric chair.

You and him get a chance to sit down and talk. What would you talk about? I think I would want to hear his story of how he found Jesus again. He obviously knew Jesus as a kid, so I would wonder what made him walk away and back again.

As a human being, I would probably be very angry with him to think he has the right to decide when I live and die. But in heaven, there is no sin or pain; God would make us by default be incapable of hate. I would probably cry and give him a hug and congratulate him for making it.

What conversation would you have with him?

Self-proclaimed "christians" keep claiming that there's some vast conspiracy against them in America.

They whine about persecution when their brethren in other countries actually risk getting KILLED for their faith.

Yet they see their own attempts to persecute others as divinely inspired, the height of morality.

They try to hijack the government to promote their beliefs at the expense of anyone who disagrees, but the instant a non-christian tries to express an opinion they scream bloody murder.

They can't stand not being allowed to put their own religious symbols on every available surface at taxpayer expense, but a stamp honoring another faith's holiday, or a movie that questions their beliefs sends them through the roof.

What is wrong with these people? Is their faith so weak it can't stand up to the slightest scrutiny?

Rather than adding reams of 'edits' to my previous question I felt I should ask this seperately.

Many answers (to 'what is the Christian explanation of the presence of dinosaurs on this earth?') have indicated that dinosaurs existed around the same time as humankind. Some even suggest that they lived harmoniously before original sin was comitted.

If we take these answers to be true, then I wonder this:

why are there no human fossils as old as dinosaur fossils? If they lived together, at the same time (but dinosaurs were wiped out and we survived) then surely we'd find human fossils of the same, or very similar, age?

My knowledge is lacking in this field, but I think only ape skeletons fossils have been found, but none as old as dinosaur fossils.

Anyone?

Jesus said you cannot serve both God and money, right? So would money itself ever be used as a "sign" from God about something?

According to the bible, those who are ignorant of God will get in to heaven (some "ignorance clause" I heard of). Like those people living in areas untouched by people trying to spread the word of God or people that believed in something entirely different and never heard of God or Jesus. So by spreading the word of God and those who dont accept it will go to hell. I know its their choice to accept God or not but if the Word was never spread, they would be going to heaven; now they will forever burn in hell. Why would anyone take that chance will someone' soul? They claim to want to save everyone but are kind of doing the opposite. Isnt it better to keep it to yourself? This way everyone is guaranteed to be saved. (well those that live a "good" life or whatever that means)

P.S.- Not atheist but still most likely going to hell because of the way I think.

I posted this a month ago but no one really answered the question.

Well I am 15. My life is very confusing at the moment so I have lost what I believe in. I just don't feel God,I can't get into worship and have total faith and I hate that. I want no doubts and I want to know with 100% God is with me. The person I call(ed) my best friend was a christian and helped me for a while but now I think she needs the help and I cant help her because it would be extremley hypicrtical since I dont know where my christian life stands. I got caught up in getting my best friend back I let God go. I guess I got kinda upset at him cuz my friendship was awesome and it all dissapered. I know it may be for the best so I just want to give all my troubles to God like he says but I dont know how and I just wish I could see him. How do I get more faith and be able to worship without fear and how do I really feel God?
I think about death and Heaven alot and I know if I died tonight I wouldnt make it to heaven but I dont know how to have no doubts. Help! Do u understand?

What are your thoughts? Did the Catholic church do the right thing? Should we respect an ideology that had no problem with this method of punishment?

Why do we blame everyone but God when adversity hits? We blame Satan, we blame ourselves, or we blame others for creating the situation or for doing nothing to avert it. Is there ever a time, though, when none of the aforementioned are at fault? Is there ever a time that warrants, "God, you're a real jerk sometimes"?
