Why do we blame everyone but God when adversity hits? We blame Satan, we blame ourselves, or we blame others for creating the situation or for doing nothing to avert it. Is there ever a time, though, when none of the aforementioned are at fault? Is there ever a time that warrants, "God, you're a real jerk sometimes"?

Well this is to assume that God is to blame for the wrong.

Sometimes calamity comes about as a result of the sin of people. The ones to blame are the sinners. The Bible says in Isaiah 45:7 that God creates evil. Does that mean sin? No, it refers to calamity.

For instance let's say that Americans keep murdering little babies. God some day sends a huge army to slaughter Americans. That huge army is a calamity/an evil sent by God for the purpose of punishing the sinners.

Here is another way of putting it.

Imagine you are walking down the street and some guy comes around the corner and starts stabbing you with a knife. Soon you are in the hospital in pain.

You are full of anger.

Now you might think, How could God do this to me? How could He allow this to happen? This is ALL God's fault!

Well let's think about it.

You are walking outside. A guy comes up and stabs you. You end up in the hospital.

Who is guilty? Well the one who did the stabbing.

Or like starving children. Often people blame that on God.

Yet we are the ones who hog our food and refuse to share it with them.

God is Holy and blameless. Why would you or anyone else want to blame God for anything? He and He alone is the very reason you, me and every other soul are not burning in hell at this very moment.

When sin entered this world, God turned His face away from mankind, giving a choice and way to cleanse themselves and come back to Him pure and faultless.

Sin is the reason why all of the adversity and where the fault lies in this world... not with God. If you really took the time to find out who God truly is, and would get to know Him... you would not be asking such questions.

lol That's very funny!

I must say that your "idea" of God is incorrect. God isn't some man in the Heavens dealing out death and punishment. God is everything, the shadow and the light create form. God is omnipresent, so what gets hurt but God??? Also, you are one with God, so is your computer, your mom, your pet, and your carpet. Nothing is outside of God...

We are all one consciousness experiencing ourselves subjectively. All there is is NOW, no future and no past. There is no such thing as death and we are the imagination of ourselves.

If we didn't have the dark we wouldn't know the light and in combination we see form. If life was all happy we wouldn't really appreciate anything and we'd be in a constant state of "I'm bored."

God doesn't get a pass. He created everything and provided things to everyone out of grace (not because God owed them) and He is not indebted to keep bad things from happening to you. Let's say you strike someone in the head, that causes pain and adversity for your victim. We don't blame God. Not just because He didn't strike your victim, but He is not indebted to us. He does protect people and will only allow so much pain, but He has a plan we don't know about.

God gets blamed often enaugh...... when trouble hits its always like why did God let that happen? Thats a normal and natural question to ask.
The problem is when people put the blame where they want to put it, not where it belongs.
God is just and makes no mistakes. His ways are way beyond our small understanding.

I rarely blame Satan, most of the time I have to blame myself or the stupidity of others, but why in the world would I blame God? He does not set out to harm us, He means us nothing but good.

first you can't blame any nor everything on anyone but yourself. If you are continuing to have problems in your life then it is for a reason. Either the Lord is after you " dealing with you " or you are not a child of God that being said Satan can do what he pleases with you. the bible says " touch not my anointing and do my Prophets no harm" . IF you seek you shall find.

I am not sure if God should be blamed either. Who knows if God has anything to do with our miseries or happiness. Maybe we're just trying so hard to find someone to blame. what I do not understand is that we also try hard to find someone to credit for our successes, aren't we worthy enough, deserving enough to accept the credit for our successes and achievements. I say, lets count our losses, accept them, and lets value our successes and enjoy them!

When does one blame oneself? It is always someone else's fault. Since there is NO god there is no reason to blame him/her/it. The other side of that is be responsible for what and who you are and stop looking for reasons or scapegoats beyond those you create for any situation.

lol
May that never be so!
There is NO unrighteousness with God.

I've heard people blame God for everything. Your view is unique in my experience :)

**Edit.. finally found the scripture lol**
Romans 9:14-16
"What shall we say, then? Is there injustice with God? Never may that become so! 15 For he says to Moses: “I will have mercy upon whomever I do have mercy, and I will show compassion to whomever I do show compassion.” 16 So, then, it depends, not upon the one wishing nor upon the one running, but upon God, who has mercy."
