Jesus said you cannot serve both God and money, right? So would money itself ever be used as a "sign" from God about something?

I have aways been confused about the fact that as you stated jesus taught money to be unimportant, yet from the time Paul got involved with christianity there has been a very heavy emphasis on the monetary aspects of the church. This is still very evident in the faith today.

I see they gave you an ugly orange badge today too.

Yes, and it has for me personally... but I am under legal commitment not to speak of it.

WHY do you people continue to put for the FALSE idea that money and faith cannot go hand-in-hand??? The Bible, AND the WORLD has been full of God-fearing WEALTHY people. God has NO problem with people having wealth. It is what they DO and their attitude TOWARDS it that He may have problems with. Remember, it is the LOVE of money which is the root of all evil... and that love of money is called GREED.... and greed is a form of envy... and so on.

God has used money as a "sign." Abraham, Job... even Joseph became wealthy. It was a blessing from God. But none of these people ever abused the gift.

Have a blessed day.

A sign from God? I don't know...
would God want to force someone into believing in him through suffedring?
Why suffering?
and not some other way...

not always
but most money without direction causes problems

Depends on the God in question.

Based on the knowledge given of the God of Abraham, probably not.

But polytheistic people often have at least one God whose domain includes money or commerce, such as Hermes. Hermes often gives signs in the form of money.

Interesting.....the less attachment we have to something, the more we open the path for it to flow towards us.

"To those who have, more shall be given....and to those that do not have, even what they have shall be taken from them".

I suppose....we would do well to serve our own choice of Master and all else shall be given unto us according to our needs.

Ok....my point is..... that we are only required to find and to fulfil our own personal journey in this world and to realize that we create our own experiences based on our ability to align our mind and body with our soul purpose.

How do we become rich? By cold hard cash and all that it can buy on this earth or by seeking the Kingdom of God?

Peace!

I have heard stories of God miraculously providing money, but as I recall, His human children were the agents of those miracles.

At least the times I remember. still we can give thanks for His love and guidance that inspired those acts of kindness!

Jesus use me.
Oh Lord don't refuse me.
surely there's a work that I can do,
and even though it's humble,
help my pride to crumble...

Jesus said "If you give a glass of water, even to the least of these, in my name, you have done it unto me".

Praise God!

Why not give to the poor, in His love, on His birthday this year?!?

"God will bless you after you perform the act of giving offerings (i.e. money) to the Lord."

You can send it to me, in a plain brown envelope, marked "occupant"...

Of course it can. Not serving money doesn't mean God will never send you any, it just means money doesn't rule your life.

Unfortunately My wife has ( many years ago) seen me drunk, quite a few times, but has never complained. For some years now, I have never drank alcohol. Have seen the light. LOL ( of day)

Only if you prayed to never have any and did so honestly. Then, just to show you that poverty is NOT what you really need, Deity would shower you with it. LOL
