are we to consider them sick, horny, lustful, immoral like we would call men today who would do the same?

The simple answer is yes. But the whole subject is a bit more complicated than that. God presented all of the characters in the bible with all of their virtues and flaws alike. King David only did what God told his people would happen when the rejected his government for a earthly government. The Bible never indicates that God approved of these actions by some of his tools. Every one of these men suffered consequences for their bad behavior. It is one matter to error in indiscretion and another to continue in it. You need to read or study God's Word with a little more depth of thought. GOD bless!

You really have a thing about sex don't you. There was an obvious difference in their societies a few thousand years ago. The fact that they did it back then doesn't make it right for today. There are a lot of things that are still done today as they were back then in the Middle East. I'm sure you are aware of the consequences of sexual immorality in Iran. Can't imagine you'd like that as well. With all of the sexual diseases being spread, with or without the use of condoms (no they don't stop disease every time) and so many children having children, I find your thinking not only sleazy but inappropriate.

Abraham, jacob and david lead very busy and purposeful lives. Sex and enjoyment was not their agenda. But in most
cases, circulstances developed that forced them into marraige.

Secondly you cannot apply 21st century's morality to pre-historic times. The society is hypocrite. A man can marry only
one woman at a time but can have dozens of girl friends.
Marraige is better than ultra marital sex. Because when you
marry a person you accept some responsibilty about her/his.

People lived in closely knit tribes in the olden days. You could not enter a community unless you were related to it. Therefore many prophets had to marry more than once.
Look at their lives as a whole. The results they produced are
far better than any individual of present century was able to.

I think they were following past tradition.

Lust and being immoral are words I would use to describe their polygamous relationships.

Some people claim God commanded the polygamy. I have never found that in the Bible.

Thank you God! In heaven men and women will be equals.

Men of god will say what and why god thinks . and although we see what is immoral he in his infinite wisdom found exception to the rule in balance .but ask why he created an Angel he knew would rebel and they say we can't speak for god because he works in mysterious ways . Which is it? and when do we get special consideration or should we not go with reason and logic ,compassion and understanding not forgeting there is a word called Mercy.

It was acceptable back in those days and in certain parts of the world it still is. It wasn't immoral, it was the way it was done.

They also needed to have large families, each person working for the family so they all may eat and survive.

No because that was considered the Old testament and we are in a new order of things so having more than one wife or concubine wasnt really established as wrong in those days but immoral so i guess it was wrong.

This was before the law was given. We can't judge the bible or how things were done in the beginning; we are only to obey what the New Testament says.
We can't base what we will do by trying to twist the word of God into saying what we want it to say.

Oh, David was a horndog bar none--no question. And God used him anyway and described him as a man after his own heart. God sees what's good in us even when our behavior is deplorable. We should try to do as much.
