My thought is that so passages can be added or removed without being noticed. If page 86 were missing, people would debate why for 2000 years.

Reposted from a rather dead section...

To summarize she basically stated no one at her job would or wanted to talk to her and she wanted to know why they would be so rude. My answer, from personal xp, was if I find 1 person that doesnt like dealing with me I wonder whats wrong with them BUT if I find MANY people that dont want to deal with me I tend to look at myself and see if I have some type of issue that would cause this to happen. For this I got quite a few thumbs down. Not that I care really about the thumbs down but it did get me thinking... are people really so arrogant as to think they could not be the one with the problem? And to the other thumbs downers, are they really so full of pc bs that they would rather another give an inane but placating opinion just to avoid hurtful feelings?

How is anyone to mature and grow without ever getting any REAL feedback?

Matthew 12:37
By thy words thou art justified (graced), and
by thy words thou art condemned (lawed).

Matthew 15:11 (Mark 7:20)
It's not what goes in the mouth that defileth,
but what comes out the mouth that defileth.

1Thessalonians 5:3 (no escape by law)
When they say Peace and Safety (in law),
sudden destruction comes back on them.

James 3:6-10
The tongue defileth the whole body,
and even the course of nature,
whenever set on fire by the law.
Therewith we bless (grace), and
therewith we curse (law) God & men.
Both blessed + cursed ought not be said,
for the twain ends badly: accursed(Gal 1).

Christians get married in church before God and swear "till death us do part"

Both God and Jesus hate divorce, Matthew 19:9 says,

"I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery"

Adultery is a major problem in the Christian faith.

First, one of the commandments in the Ten Commandments specifically forbids adultery. Even worse, in Leviticus 20 we find this:
"If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbour, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall be put to death".
Adulterers get the death penalty.

Clearly, God and Jesus want Christians to stay married for life.

Given all of this isnt a little surprising that the divorce rate amongst Christians is higher than amongst atheists???

Go figure!

No worries, I don't spend much (or almost any of my time) thinking about death, but I just watched a movie that is one of those that makes you remember that death is inevitable. I'm not talking about if you're worried about your soul and what comes after death ie heaven or hell, but the actual death process, the pain associated with it. Just curious is all. Chances are, since I'm on my way to bed, I'll wake up and not even give it much of a second thought? Your thoughts/worries/ideas?

at the age of 40 or 20 you were involved in a accident that killed you ,and had it not been for you having poor judgement or with the poor judgement of another ,you never would have died.As an example you decide to drive drunk and wreck your car and kill yourself ,or somebody kills you because they are driving drunk. Or you overdose on pills by accident. Is there really such a thing as an ACCIDENT ,or was it the will of God all along that this person do something stupid or be at the wrong place at the wrong time ,because it was the will of God for this person to die in the way that he did ,and at the place and age that he did ,other wise we would all live to be old .I hope this makes sense to the people that read this ,thanks for the feedback

"Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that { I have power } to crucify thee, and have power to release thee? Jesus answered, Thou couldest have { no power } at all against me, { except it were given thee from above:} therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin" John 19:10-11

"John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven" John 3:27.

Education is very important. Sooo....please educate us.
To Roman Catholic Christians, if I talk to you. Christ is the one by whose name we are called. What branch, sect, denomination or political affiliation doesn't matter. Keep Christ in Christianity and we are one body! This is why I call myself a believer in The Christ as described by the Holy Spirit filled Apostles. Most people just know me as a nice person.
It's kinda crazy how you can tell people what you are by name, and they still call you whatever they want to.

"The souls that are incarnated in women's bodies have lessons to learn before they gain the right to incarnate in a man's body. A woman is naturally prepared to care and love for the ones close and the man to care about all. The woman is more emotional and that makes her a better target for evil".

What do you think about this hierarchy and distinction, is it fair? Even if you don't believe in reincarnation, is there any base for such an assumption?
And ladies, could you live happily with a man that has such a believe? I'm with some serious trouble reconciling my love towards this person and some of his believes which go against my principles.

You chrsitans are supposed to open your arms to everyone yet you guys say homosexuality and polynadery/gamy/open marriges is bad. What would you do if a Gay/Bi/Lesbo/Tranie person came to your church asking if they could convert to chritianity? Would you act all homophobic? Let them convert? Or try n make them find god so that he makes them straight?

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then He is not omnipotent.
Is He able, but not willing?
Then He is malevolent.
Is He both able and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is He neither able nor willing?
Then why call Him God?

--Epicurus, circa 300 BCE

I realize that many people have read this before I discovered it today, but I find it a very powerful question (quote) considering what a powerful influance the comman answers that are given have on our lives wether you do or do not agree.
So I wanna know if this type of thinking, questioning affects the way you think or feel about God or the God concept?

ps kind of funny to me to think about how long these qusetion have burned in the hearts of man.
