i've good reason to believe 1 corinthians 15:5,6 means that the 500, James and all the apostles saw Jesus at the one time at the ascension. its usually taken to mean separate appearances i think as its not been asked before.

This song was written by A B Simpson. A dear brother in the Lord decades ago.

Once it was the blessing/
Now it is the Lord/
Once it was the feeling/
Now it is His word
Once His gift I wanted
Now the Giver own
Once I sought for healing
Now Himself alone

Chorus
All in all forever
Only Christ I'll sing
Everything is in Christ
And Christ is EVERYTHING!

Once 'twas painful trying
Now 'tis perfect trust
Once a half salvation
Now the uttermost
Once 'twas ceaseless holding
Now He holds me fast
Once 'twas constant drifting
Now my anchor's cast

Once 'twas busy planning
Now 'tis trustful prayer
Once 'twas anxious caring
Now He has the care
Once 'twas what I wanted
Now what Jesus says
Once twas constant asking
Now ' tis ceaseless praise!!

Once it was my working
His it hence shall be
Once i tried to use Him
Now He uses me
Once the power I wanted
Now.. THE MIGHTY ONE!
Once for self I labored
Now for Him alone

The unabashed truth is I may be old but I am not sweet.
Neither are a lot of elderly who are older than me and who have lived wretched lives.
Sure, some people mellow with age, but that's not always the case, a lot get 'set in their ways'.
So why should anyone, per se, even Children, autmatically respect someone just because they are older??
Isn't that plain wrong, not to mention hypocritical?

I'd like to suggest the theme to 'Welcome Back, Kotter'.

I highly advise against Kool and the Gang's "Celebration", though. I would imagine even Jesus is sick of that song.

I've read the bible cover to cover to cover to cover, and anyone who has, can agree that it's not fun at all to read....Wouldn't an all powerful, all knowing, all good deity be a better writer?

Why couldn't he write it in language that children can understand, and enjoy reading, easily, with no need for translations?

don't tell me "there are bibles for children" because according to you, that isn't written by god, only the kjv, niv, and whatever other version is....

I have been studying wicca for about a year and the more I study the more confused i become. I am really interested in the celtic culture and mythology. The problem is I don't know of many resources for it. most of the books you find are on wicca and thats not what I'm being pulled towards. If anyone has any resources as far as the religion, practices ect. of the celts please let me know. And please I am not interested in converting to christianity so please refrain from the long posts threatening me with hell and damnation. I only want real answers relevant to my question. Thanks all

I know as Christians we are human and sometime slip into unloving behavior, but suppose there was a person here on R&S who regularly answered questions, but all of them -- consistently -- showed hate and a sneering attitude?

Suppose this hypothetical person never asked questions and never answered any except from the people he saw as his "enemies," i.e. people whose opinions were different from him: would you wonder about his committment to preaching Jesus's tenets of love? Or would you assume that love of one's brothers and sisters, either in cyberspace or in the world, wasn't an important aspect of ministering to one another?

as if they are God?

they all the time make research over people as if they are God..we are their creation..

they are not superior to us..on the contrary..

a man who wants to be superior to the other ..actually is inferor to him..because God made us equal..even when some of us loose their mind..

the only superior person to us..is the one like Blessed Virgin..who doesn't sleep around..and considers the poor his/her equal.
