Maybe He/She/It wanted to see what people would do with the words they were given. Do we even know that what the original writers wrote was exactly, word-for-word, what God said? Or did they paraphrase some of it? Or even make stuff up? No one's alive today who wrote it so how do we know what the truth really is.

Anyway, Americans as the chosen people. I doubt that. I don't think the Christian God, if there is one, cares what country you're from, but how you behave towards one another.

As an atheist American I'd like to say screw you buddy. It's a good thing there aren't any fundie theist's in the rest of the world. I mean no Muslims in the middle east or Catholics in South America. Try thinking before you spout off.

Americans are not God's chosen people. All people are Gods chosen. Many an agnostic atheist has prayed for mercy from their loving God on their death beds.

Why would you ever believe that Americans consider themselves "God's people"?

Is it because you have a warped view of Americans and want only to demonize us all because of the few you've encountered?
