"Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that { I have power } to crucify thee, and have power to release thee? Jesus answered, Thou couldest have { no power } at all against me, { except it were given thee from above:} therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin" John 19:10-11

"John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven" John 3:27.

I honestly stand with you on this point brother. There is ONE Sitting on the Throne of this Universe. He is God. He is Soverign and even though the world's situation outwardly seems to be a trainwrech about to happen, in the spiritual realm God in His infinite power is working in an unseen way and carrying out His purpose and will ON this very earth.

Personally this comforts my heart when I look at the News. God is the One, not man.. that sees the real situation. His perspective is different and He does all things with Eternity in mind.. He is not limited by time, space, world situations or persons.. because Brother Don.. Our God SITS on the Throne carrying out His administration and desire on earth as it is in the Heavens,.

That's how I see it.

The most dominating power in the world is when the spirit of religion and the reigning governments of the world get into bed together like they did when Rome and the (religious leaders) of the Jews joined forces to crucify the Son of God.

Of course this was the plan and could only have materialized with the permissible will of God.

Notice: I said religious leaders of the Jews, NOT the Jews.

The Bible is the ultimate authority. All power comes from God. We must always remember He is ALWAYS in control. No matter what's going on in the world, God knows about it, and remains in control.

He is the ultimate Governor! If only we would trust Him, and not fight against Him!

In practice, I believe that people have the governors they chose for themselves and sometimes they have to deal with the consequences of that. What happened when Israel insisted on having a king like the other nations? Samuel told God they had rejected his leadership, and God responded that they hadn't rejected S., but God. Israel made a choice, and God honoured their choice. They had to deal with the consequences of that for a long, long time.

In today's democratic countries, if you don't vote, those who do will choose your government for you. If you choose not to take responsibility for your choices, God will allow you to live with the consequences of that.

Yes, I believe this. And as Pontius Pilate, that political coward, further stated, "I have written what I have written."

God will allow us to walk in front of a truck, if we so choose. And God allowed Hitler to do what he did. I don't have all the answers. I only have faith in Him who does.

Yes, I believe that the governments have no power, except for what God has allowed them to have.
