Reposted from a rather dead section...

To summarize she basically stated no one at her job would or wanted to talk to her and she wanted to know why they would be so rude. My answer, from personal xp, was if I find 1 person that doesnt like dealing with me I wonder whats wrong with them BUT if I find MANY people that dont want to deal with me I tend to look at myself and see if I have some type of issue that would cause this to happen. For this I got quite a few thumbs down. Not that I care really about the thumbs down but it did get me thinking... are people really so arrogant as to think they could not be the one with the problem? And to the other thumbs downers, are they really so full of pc bs that they would rather another give an inane but placating opinion just to avoid hurtful feelings?

How is anyone to mature and grow without ever getting any REAL feedback?

Huh... if you choose who you get feedback from would you choose one that will just tell you what you want to hear?

It has been my experience that a lot of folks prefer a flat, straight, highway through a desert world. Boring, but safe.

I hate the Politically Correct crap... It doesn't do anyone any good. And yes, people have become so arrogant that they think they could not be the one with a problem. It's always everyone else. When did everyone get so damn sensitive anyway? I mean come on!!! We talk Tough when we talk about going to war, but if someone tells you they think your religion stinks you cry??????? Do we need More drugs? Or less drugs? I'm not sure which way we need to go here, but something needs to be done. I'm tired of hearing whiny-*** people cry all the time, but then try to act tough later. You either are tough or you aren't... and if you whine... then you aren't.

I've found that this is a state of maturity that many never reach.

You have to realize that the one common denominator in all of your relationships is YOU. So, if things keep going badly, it's more than likely that it is something YOU are allowing or doing. (Not that the other parties are faultless, but you can only control yourself, in the end.)

I agree with you 100%, if that makes you feel better. When someone insults me, I first look to see if there is any truth to it, and any personal growth I need to be working on. If not, I just dismiss it and move on.

Our perception grows as we gain knowledge. Knowledge is not constrained to the feedback of others. During meditation we receive valuable feedback of another sort.

About the question you raised,
"...are people really so arrogant as to think they could not be the one with the problem?"

Sadly yes, I was one for many years. Victim mentality. Awareness of the question is the first step. I'm proud of you and your questioning spirit. You obviously receive massive doses of feedback that you ponder seriously and grow from.

Blessed be.

Sometimes the world hates the fewer who truly love God and his standards. I've gotten this quite a bit in my life.

If it means dedicating my devotion to God or pleasing the immoral world, I choose God any day. What can an imperfect human offer me over what God can?

Zilchoooo.

You know, i would probably do the same, but the arrogance of some people on this board is horrific. i wonder if they are like that in real life.

Why, what have i done? i have a guilty conscience sometimes....you know!
