Hi, I know with absolute certainty that your beloved dog will go on to an afterlife, and when it is your time you will be reunited. I am a Spiritualist Medium, and have had communication with a number of pets that have passed on. All animals have souls, so therefore will pass over into the Spirit World.
No doubt in my mind whatsoever.

All things will be created new at the resurrection...right now, everything that is dead is dead. I feel for you because though I have faith and believe in the Bible and God and Salvation through the Blood of Christ, the knowledge that I have discovered that there is no immediate dispensation is comforting to me because His promises mean more to me than anything. I also had a beloved pet that was in my life for almost 14 years. It was painful to let her go but she was suffering too much. She is still missed and that was 7 years ago and I know there is no way she can be replaced in my life. She saw me through some pretty tough times and I feel blessed to have been her person. Talk about a loyal dog...and beautiful. Still, I know that when the time comes...she'll be what she was intended to be...for now she rests and she's not in any pain and is not aware. The Bible doesn't say much about animals except that what they are now won't be how they are recreated in the New Earth. They will be pure but like us they will never suffer. Consider your own soul...how is it with you if you were to pass away this minute. If God is so concerned about the smallest creature in creation...how much more is He concerned with you. Maybe this would be a good time to reflect on your lack of faith and explore your options. Love in Christ, ~J~

I have also lost my dog of 12 years and I can feel your pain.
According to Hinduism, every living creature, may be a human, cow, tiger dog snake or even an ant have soul in them, You put a living tiger by the side of a dead tiger and tell what is the difference between the two ? Apparently they are same, but one in the two has no soul and we say it is dead .In Bhagwath Geeta, Lord Krishna says that soul is immortal. No fire can burn it, no water can drown it, air cannot whisk it away and no weapon can destroy it. It is sure to take rebirth according to its deed in the life of a dog. The soul or Atma of your pet is now in transit and supreme authority will decide what should be the new home of the soul of your pet.As per our holy books, our soul is living in the present body just like a tenent staying in a house on payment of rent. Hence, death is considered as like leaving one rented house and entering another rented house.Since you have so much love for it, it must have served you and your family with all loyalty, love , honesty and intelligence. These have been his good karma while in the body of a dog.As a reward of its good deeds, it is very likely that his position on rebirth will be elevated and he may take his next birth as a human being.. I have not studied what has been mentioned in the holy books of other great religions. But what I have studied in Hindu religion, I am stating emphatically.Another word as per my belief, your mourning too much will only hinder the progress of that soul. So now you have to reconcile with the situation.

This is so strange, I have not really picked my bible up in awhile. But this morning while I was looking up scripture on another topic I ran across one that talked about animals and it was just a 'hunh' moment, where I have never read that passage before. Since I can not find it again, here is the jist of it...
Mankind is no more special than the animal, they are both creations of God and both are created with a soul.
I am sure that it stated more, but at the time I was looking for something else, so I never finished reading it. If I find it again I will send it to you if you have an e-mail listed (I did not look).
Maybe I was shown that passage to give to you, if I was, sorry I didn't pay more attention. Just know that your dog DOES have a soul and it is worth as much as you are to God.
Blessings! ~JAYE~

Like many christians for years I believed no. But about 16 years ago I was reading the Bible Animal Band to my son & saw a scripture I had never looked at in quite the same way before.
It says that all of creation groans waiting His appearing. Why would the animals long for Christ's appearing if it offered no hope for them?
Then it also made me think about Revelations. All through it when describing the world after Armegeddon it refers to lions, lambs, snakes & it says nothing will hurt or kill. Until the new heaven & earth I don't think they'll be immortal or even have a spirit in the terms of a human. But love abides forever & God himself will wipe our tears.
The love a domesticated animal has for it's owners is as pure & innocent as you're going to ever see. That love won't just cease to exist. I honestly believe part of all the wonders that "eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, nor has it entered into the heart of man all God has prepared for those who love him" includes being with those animals we loved & loved us in return.
Btw WorkBen the soul isn't the same as the spirit. The soul can & does die, not the spirit.
Anyway hopes this helps your grief. God bless.

Dogs have souls, but they do not have the Holy Spirit. In the Christian faith, it is the Holy Spirit that enables eternal life in heaven. The Holy Spirit is part of God and God cannot die. So while humans were condemned to die after we sinned, God forgave us and allowed us to be filled with the Holy Spirit so that we too could have eternal life. However, this blessing is reserved for humans only. Everything else, including dogs, are lower in the hierarchy of creation. The only creations able to be in heaven are angels and humans (we're higher than angels in the hierarchy), all else is to be burned away and effectively destroyed at the end of the world.
So... I'm sorry to say that according to my beliefs and my interpretations of the Bible, your dog is not in heaven nor will she ever be. She was a creation made for your pleasure and that's that. But no one is to say that God (who can do anything) can't recreate your dog for you in heaven.
The argument of whether or not pets can go to heaven has been hotly debated, but the fact of the matter is... pets are creations of this Earth, not heaven. And all things on Earth are for our pleasure... but at the end of it all... all things are doomed to be destroyed. Spiritually speaking, dogs are material things that we should not become attached to for such attachments lead us away from God... so why would he let us keep something that could lead our focus away from God?
I have a dog myself and he's got about 10 years left (I hope), but when he passes... I won't be waiting to see in him heaven as I won't be expecting to see him there. I will, however, ask God if he can bring my buddy back when I kick the bucket =D
I'm sorry for your loss and I hope you find peace.

I am sorry for your loss, I have a 10yr old dog and I will be devestated when his time is up, It is funny how we get so attached to our pets, their like our children we love them with all our heart, so losing one is like losing one of your children, well it feels like it.
unfortunately the bible and the church dictates that an animal can not go to heaven due to the fact it hs no knowledge of God, this is a sin, this is why when we are born we are born of sin, ignorance is not an excuse????? sorry, but you believe what you want, thats all that matters.

I think this should be nice for you to read:
"Pets—Keep a Balanced View of Them
AS NOTED before, man was charged with caring for the earth and all its animals. The Bible says: “Everything [God has] put under his feet: small cattle and oxen, all of them, and also the beasts of the open field, the birds of heaven and the fish of the sea.”—Psalm 8:6-8; 115:16.
How humans carry out their responsibility toward animals is important. God’s Word says: “The righteous one is caring for the soul of his domestic animal.” (Proverbs 12:10) Indeed, God’s laws for Israel repeatedly emphasized the need to be considerate of animals. (Deuteronomy 22:4, 10; 25:4) In the course of carrying out their responsibility, humans have often made pets of domestic animals, and they have even tamed wild ones and made pets of them too.—Genesis 1:24.
It is good to remember, though, that the Bible emphasizes the distinction between humans and animals. Humans, not animals, were made ‘in the image and likeness of God.’ (Genesis 1:26) And whereas animals were created with a limited life span, humans had the prospect of living on earth forever. (Genesis 3:22, 23; Psalm 37:29) Jesus Christ said that to enjoy “everlasting life,” we must exercise faith and take in knowledge of God—things that animals are incapable of doing. (John 3:36; 17:3) Moreover, the Bible compares those unworthy of a resurrection to the “unreasoning animals [that are] born naturally to be caught and destroyed.”—2 Peter 2:9-12.
Provided for Man’s Good
God created animals for the sake of humans. Animals can help them do their work and can serve as their companions or pets. They also serve to magnify God’s love and wisdom. Surely it is a pleasure to observe the beauty of animals and to learn more about the Creator from a study of their marvelous instinctive wisdom. (Psalm 104:24; Proverbs 30:24-28; Romans 1:20) Just one of the many examples of such wisdom is seen in the world of insects. Remarkable indeed is the way bees communicate with one another and follow directions to food sources—not to mention how they build their complex honeycombs.
Animals may benefit man by serving as food. Originally, God provided only vegetation as food for man. But more than 1,600 years later—after the Flood of Noah’s day—God said: “Every moving animal that is alive may serve as food for you. As in the case of green vegetation, I do give it all to you.” (Genesis 1:29; 9:3) Thus, God made the concession for humans to eat animals. Evidently, this concession was for man’s good, although originally God did not include meat as part of the human diet."
The article went on to explain about the challenges of keeping a pet nowadays. But I think you know all about that already. Sorry about your dog.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but their is no life after death for dogs, as much as there is no life after death for people. The bible clearly states that the 'soul' (in man) dies and he returns to the dust of the ground. There is no immortal soul - quite the opposite.
Check your bible
No eternal burning in hell in, and no eternal playing harps in heaven either.

Regrettably there is no life after death for dogs or anyone else. Its just one of the standard promises that most religions make to help you get over your fear of death.
There is no evidence in an afterlife whatsoever. If people actually believed it why wouldnt they welcome death, they would be able to go off to the nice nirvana in the sky to meet up with deceased relatives and wait in luxury for their friends to arrive.
It seems to me that the people who believe in an after-life are the ones who actually fear death the most.
