No worries, I don't spend much (or almost any of my time) thinking about death, but I just watched a movie that is one of those that makes you remember that death is inevitable. I'm not talking about if you're worried about your soul and what comes after death ie heaven or hell, but the actual death process, the pain associated with it. Just curious is all. Chances are, since I'm on my way to bed, I'll wake up and not even give it much of a second thought? Your thoughts/worries/ideas?

Actually I'm not to worried about it. People I have known who have died after painful lives with disease/operations . . . tend to feel so much peace when they pass on that it leaves you feeling content about the whole idea of death. It's a way of escaping life and the pains associated with it while still holding on to the memories of loved ones and the times you've shared with them. :)

Death, and the process of death, is often painful, sorrowful, and troubling. Who would not be concerned at the very least about it. Ecclesiastics tells us that everyone has an appointed time to die.

What is more important than how we feel about something that is inevitable, is the peace we can have knowing where we are going. That peace comes to us now through faith alone in Christ as your Lord. In this faith the Holy Spirit will indwell you and begin transforming you into a Christ-like being in thoughts, actions, and attitudes. By allowing the Spirit to do these things, your conviction of the unseen God is strengthened each moment as you give more and more of your decisions, cares, worries, and needs to the Lord AND seem Him care for you and direct your ways. The process - which relatively few choose to put into practice (despite the head knowledge) - is amazing.

A lifetime filled with ever increasing trust and obedience in the Lord through good times and difficult times, strengthens your faith as unconditional praise. When your time comes to meet your Lord, the sorrow and pain seem trivial compared to the amazing, splendid glory that you will soon witness...and witness for all eternity. This is living a life by grace through faith...and it's not always easy. You'll find yourself denying lots of things, but also relishing the peace, hope, and joy you have never before experienced.

When your day comes, how wonderful it would be to be excited to finally see your God face to face! This is the life I want to live, because when my time comes, I want the faith - like Paul - to say in all sincerity, "...to live is Christ, and to die is gain." [Phil. 1:21]

I shudder to seriously think of what anxiety I would feel not knowing Christ...how I would rationalize and try to ignore death until it was at my door. Some believe they will simply be no more and that's the end of it...they deceive themselves. I can hardly imagine the fear and terror that would grip me once in the spirit, realizing that I had squandered my salvation to be part of the sin-infested world I just left.

I think it is good to think about death and what will happen if i never wake up again and if there is really a after life. What if I wasted all my life on earth and never accepted the truth that Jesus Christ died for my sins so i can have life. Death is only a separation but there is another death called the second death and that is permanent separation when all those who rejected Jesus will be thrown into the lake of fire

If were not talking what happens after then we will talk about the actual death act. Yes sometimes it does if i sit and think but honestly we dont know if it hurts no one has died and told us what happened. But what bothers me more than actually dying is the part where in 100 to 200 years it will be like i didnt exist life will move on and i will be forgotten completely in the sands of time. That to me is worse no memory.

Nope. I had a near death experience a couple of years ago in the form of a cancer scare, and I thought about it a lot. I fully accepted the fact that I would just fade away and it would all be over. I was at total peace with it, had no need for any grasping at a "life after death," and felt fine.

Oddly enough, it was hardcore christian people who were constantly asking, "Gosh, aren't you terrified?" and telling me that they'd be having a mental breakdown if they were in my place.

Since I have made Jesus Christ Lord of my Life, He has taken away the fear of death. You have no fear when you have His assurance that You will be forever with Him and in the place He is preparing. But for those who are without Christ, they have much to fear. I think God puts fear in those as a warning sign and when they put their trust in Jesus, Their fears are turned to peace within. Yet, many do not yield to the warning signs and when they die, they split hell wide open and they will never experience peace ever again ever. This is why Christ died, to save people from eternal death and dying. To reject Him is rejecting the Eternal life He has chosen to give.

The only time it really troubles me is when I think of my son having to go through life without one of his parents.
