Matthew 23:9

When I was a Christian, I struggled with so many things and tried to rationalize my judgments against others using scripture.

The Bible says this and that, therefore, you are in sin and you need to repent, etc...

After learning that Jesus never even existed, I talked with Christian apologists, and they convinced me that He did, in fact, exist and that there was plenty of historic evidence for Jesus..

Then, I dug a little deeper and found that the information they were feeding me was wrong, and that the evidences for his existence was, in fact, slim to none...

So I am now an atheist, and I am kinder and have a much more real sense of morality than I ever have!

How is this possible?

Stories about obvious religious issues lead to other links. Stories about, for instance, sexual misconduct are likely to lead to the hard to find religion page. Why? What bias is at work? Could, as least, the religious story page be easier to find - like listed with the rest of the subjects?

It seems, here in the Bible Belt, that most Christians are the most gossipy, mean, prejudiced and uppity people I've ever met.

What's the point of being a Christian if it seems to make you meaner?

I realize that many people will say that Christians face the same sins and that Satan attacks Christians, especially - but you would think that people who read the Bible every day and pray every day would at least grow spiritually!

I do not know one Christian whom I would call, "kind."

Maybe this religion has just run it's course and it's time for people to cling to what is more suitable to today's society.

...His perfect righteousness to justly punish the guilty as well as to test the faithful, like Job, contrive a false God in their minds?
I mean a person who could never imagine God as one who kills, or even wounds, i.e. they ignore Duet. 32:39. They don't believe in Hell, rather that God will forgive us all. They would rather replace "fear the Lord" with "revere[ence] the Lord". In fact they fear not the Lord.
Do you think this is a form of (mental) idolatry?

Why do some Christians act as if they have a 'get out of hell free' card?
Don't you actually have to be truely repentant and try and change?

when the couple lied about the amount of money they sold their property for in front of the Apostles--they immediately fell down and breathed their last? So my question is why do certain people here think they can get away with their lies, and believe me they DO know they are lies, to the Holy Spirit through us Catholics?

Why would God leave his perfect message in the hands of imperfect human beings to help others reach him. Since God cant physcially come down and let us all see him, why leave it to the hypocrites, the fundamentalists, judgemental christains, liars, and extreme forms of Islam.

Of course you don't believe the evidence because it doesn't sit too well with the bible nonsense.Yet you are happy to use computers, medicine and cars etc which are all products of science and evidence.

when clearly their man-made religion says differently? Catholics, which are you going to believe, the Bible or your traditions?
THE ROMAN CATHOLIC TRADITION:
"Even though incorporated into the Church, one who does not however persevere in charity is not saved." , #837
http://www.catholicfirst.com/searchcatechism.cfm?action=search
OR THE BIBLE
"By grace you have been saved through FAITH; and that not of yourselves, it is the GIFT OF GOD; not as a result of works, that no one should boast" Eph. 2: 8-9
"If it is not by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace" (Romans 11:6)

CAN'T YOU SEE THEY CONTRADICT EACH OTHER?! SO, WHICH IS IT?

Hi. Is it forbidden by God if you have both Mormon and a muslim faith believing in what both respective prophets do. Can I be a muslim and share a little a bit of mormons faith because one of the answers that I got was "Keep your Mormon faith and admire the teachings of Muhammed and study the islamic faith"? There are different things in Islam that I do not believe in like Jihad and polygamy and etc. I would like to believe in Allah and refer to him as "The Lord" . I would also like to talk to Jesus just like how Christians do when they go to Church but I want to worship Jesus as the Prophet not the son of God. I would also like to admire Joseph Smith Jr. I want to respect both Muhhammed and Joseph Smith Jr. in what the both got in common. I do not believe in rival religions. Jesus is not the son of God because we are all children of God. The closest Jesus could be to God is a prophet. I do not believe in the Cross because according to the Koran, Jesus did not get cruxified. Thank You.

At the pad of a LOT of rich women (not men)
Luke 8:1-3 NIV) After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve were with him, and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out; Joanna the wife of Cuza, the manager of Herod's household; Susanna; and MANY OTHERS*. THESE WOMEN WERE HELPING TO SUPPORT THEM OUT OF THEIR OWN MEANS. (no miracles here! or were they?)
Mark 16:40-41 (NIV) Some women were watching from a distance. Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joses, and Salome. In Galilee these women had followed him AND CARED FOR HIS NEEDS. MANY OTHER WOMEN* who had come up with him to Jerusalem were also there.
*MANY OTHER WOMEN... so Jesus was quite a popular good wine drinking playboy!

Me, I don't. Why? I think people put themselves to hell. They do not wanna accept the eternal life god has given you to choose. If you don't believe, whatever. I'm just asking for opinions on this.

You have to repent to be forgiven.
He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.
Ok hear is an example. Say someone steals from you. You go to that person and tell them you forgive them. They tell you for what, I did not do anything wrong. They only took from you because you had something that they needed. There is no forgiveness if someone does not think they have done wrong.
So if you do not understand why you deserve to go to hell then God will not forgive you. We all deserve to go to hell. We do not deserve the mercy and grace that Jesus gives us. Do you see we have all broken God's law (10 Commandments) We deserve the wrath of God (which is Hell)
