There were many people named Jesus before, and if, the Jesus at the center of Christianity was born. It was one of the most common names of the time. I don't think he copyrighted it.

Of course. Jesus was not thee name given him at birth. It was Joshua. The name Jesus is a commonly used name given to males from Latina cultures. Another thing, Dec. 25th is not the date of Joshua's birth. You can name any offspring you produce "god" if you wish. A name is just a representation of a vocalized sound.

People usually name there kid Jesus because they believe in god and want there child to be bless. They are showing there dovtion to god and I think thats good because it is spreading the word that jesus is present. : )

Why wouldn't they? I lot of people use Biblical names for their children. Just don't name them "Jesus Christ" or "God".

By the way, the name "Jesus", in Hebrew, is actually Yeshua, or Joshua, and since he was Jewish, they would have called him Joshua (er - Yeshua).
