When I was a Christian, I struggled with so many things and tried to rationalize my judgments against others using scripture.

The Bible says this and that, therefore, you are in sin and you need to repent, etc...

After learning that Jesus never even existed, I talked with Christian apologists, and they convinced me that He did, in fact, exist and that there was plenty of historic evidence for Jesus..

Then, I dug a little deeper and found that the information they were feeding me was wrong, and that the evidences for his existence was, in fact, slim to none...

So I am now an atheist, and I am kinder and have a much more real sense of morality than I ever have!

How is this possible?

You answered your own question: You are a better person BECAUSE you are NOT a Christian!

It is the same with me; I used to be a Christian, and have never been so happy now that I realized it is mostly nonsense.

Now, I just practice the Golden Rule, as most Atheists do; treat others as you wish to be treated. I, myself also study Buddhism, and find it to be a much better "belief" than Christianity. I am not a Buddhist, but have embraced the messages of peace, fellowship and serenity. All I remember form my Christian days is being around a bunch of hypocrites, liars and religious instructors who couldn't answer simple questions with anything other than "Just have faith!" I was also in the Army for 10 years, and Christianity was almost forced down our throats, and again, I had never before been surrounded by a bunch of hypocrites, assholes and jerks.

To be an "EX-Christian" you had to first BE a Christian.

So, I would ask a simple question: Did you have a personal relationship with Jesus, Son of the one true God, where you accepted salvation of your eternal soul (covenant of the New Testament)?

If so, and now you are rejecting and denying God, then I pray for you.

If not, how in the world can you call yourself "an EX-Christian"?

Further, your "question" makes some incredible leaps of...hmm...sorry, not logic. Just leaps.

"learning that Jesus never even existed"? Please, citations.

"found that the information they were feeding me was wrong"? Please, citations.

"evidences for this existence was, in fact, slim to none"? Again, please, citations.

How is this possible? You were a pretend christian most likely.

How about we start with what group you had been joined with. I am a Christian and find that many subgroups tend to lose "GOD" by finding self righteousness. Jesus criticised the religious leaders of His time because the posed all these stipulations on the people yet they themselves were nothing more than trecherous snakes, who were neither going to heaven but also put "stumbling blocks" before the people.

It is a shame to the body of Christ that the greatest reason for the growth of atheism in Americans is Christians who profess Jesus with their lives and deny Him with their lives.

1) You were never really a Christian.
2) God makes some to fail.
3) You never learned what a Christian was. Hence your questions, and Judas was a lot like you.

It is a fact of history that Jesus of Nazareth existed.
Check out this website. www.tentmaker.org
I think you will find that they have a much more intelligent perspective on Christianity than you have heard before.

Just because your an atheist, don't mean you are a better person. You just ,feel relieved of your duties, as a christain. Because you don't let it bother you no more. As for jesus existence. well that for others to decide.

Please understand, You're not a "better" person, you're a person who has rejected Christ and all that goes with Him. If you reject Christ you reject truth, and you reject Love. If you think that being Atheist is anyway better than living a life according to Christ's teachings, then you are deluding yourself by listening to other "human beings" who have no power to save themselves from dying, let alone save anyone else from dying, or from paying the ultimate penalty.

Because you refuse to believe the truth you have chosen your own path which is idolatry, if it is true you were ever a Christian. If you were a Christian in name...because you were brought up as one...then it means nothing if you don't believe or were so easily swayed by the very foolish arguments of Atheists (who in case you are ignoring the implication, are just human beings too)...we decide to follow Christ when we have understanding to make the choice willingly to do so. When we accept His word as true.

You accept lies over truth and you try to rationalize your beliefs, your faith in Atheism because you love what you "want" and what you "think" is right, above and beyond anything else. You seem to judge God according to your own flawed human expectations of how God should be, and in what manner He should choose to save the world, or speak to the world. How can you place human context and frailties and flaws upon God. He is not bound according to our perceptions. God cannot commit evil, or lie, and He is never wrong.

God tells us what is right and wrong, and if you do not believe Him, you call Him a liar.

If Atheists are right, then there is no right and wrong, because there is no ultimate Lawgiver who sees all and will punish those who do evil. According to their logic, there can be no evil, no good, no Love, no compassion, no faith, only self serving expediency and ulterior motivations for any action committed by them...to expand their worthless lives with power, material wealth, sexual conquests, etc...and if no one sees them break a law, it is ok to do so because there is no one to punish them, as according to them, there is really no good or evil only perceived truth. What's right depends on the situation, etc etc. There can be no justice in a world like this, without God, and evil actions will certainly go unpunished.

Atheists "must believe" that there is no God. Belief = faith =no absolute proof. Yet they do not know with 100% absolute certainty based upon proof/factual evidence that there is no God. And since faith cannot exist in the world of the Atheist, because it is a delusion, a reliance upon desire and illogic rather than absolutely proven fact, then why do they have "faith" in the unproven theory of species to species evolution (which Darwin himself, the "man" whose theory they follow blindly, recognized was fatally flawed due to the lack of fossil record evidence) and that the evidence will someday be found? Faith should not be embraced according to them because it is only fantasy, a fable, it should be shunned...yet they have it and practice their faith everyday anyway..that is hypocrisy.

If they are wrong which I believe they are, then they will "know" the truth, only when it is too late for them to do anything about it. If they do not accept Christ in life, they "will" understand their error in death.

Your digging deeper..finding the, "information they were feeding me was wrong," etc etc...Jesus Christ is historical fact. Anyone who tries to deny this simply "wants" to deny this.

King David was real, Solomon was real, Jerusalem is real, and exists today where the Bible said it did...Jerusalem is a Hebrew name ...always has always will be. Pontius Pilate was real, Herod the Great was real...Christ is real. Bethlehem, Nazareth, Jericho, Meggido, The Garden of Gethsemane, etc etc...you can visit them yourself if you like. ...Tyre, Sidon, Syria, Babylon...Gaza, All real, Rome, Greece, etc, all real. The Bible has more archaeological historical evidence than any other ancient writing in the history of the world.

If you deny it, it isn't because you found the truth, it's because you choose to deny it.

I pray you truly seek in truth and love, then you will find the truth.

Take Care and God Bless!

A common trait of atheists is a higher sense of ethics and morality.
