Hi. Is it forbidden by God if you have both Mormon and a muslim faith believing in what both respective prophets do. Can I be a muslim and share a little a bit of mormons faith because one of the answers that I got was "Keep your Mormon faith and admire the teachings of Muhammed and study the islamic faith"? There are different things in Islam that I do not believe in like Jihad and polygamy and etc. I would like to believe in Allah and refer to him as "The Lord" . I would also like to talk to Jesus just like how Christians do when they go to Church but I want to worship Jesus as the Prophet not the son of God. I would also like to admire Joseph Smith Jr. I want to respect both Muhhammed and Joseph Smith Jr. in what the both got in common. I do not believe in rival religions. Jesus is not the son of God because we are all children of God. The closest Jesus could be to God is a prophet. I do not believe in the Cross because according to the Koran, Jesus did not get cruxified. Thank You.

If I wanted to find out about Muhammed and the Islamic faith, where would I go? To the Bible? No. If I wanted to find out about Jesus and the Christian faith, where would I go? To the Quran? No.

Islam and Christianity are like oil and water. They do not mix. The Jesus described in the Quran is not the Jesus as described in the Bible. There is overwhelming evidence to support what the Bible says about the manner in which Jesus was put to death. Historians have irrefutable evidence that the Romans used crosses as instruments of torture, and that they put hundreds of thousands of people to death in this cruel and barbarous manner. I understand why Islam says Jesus could not have been resurrected from the dead. I understand why Islam says only two of the gospel records can be relied on. I understand why Islam cannot accept that Jesus was divine, God with us in human form. But as long as you remain bound by the laws of Islam, how will you ever discover the TRUE Jesus?

Jesus said that no-one comes to the Father except through him. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and the life". It's non-negotiable. He also said that he would never turn away anyone who came to him. Just pray - put your trust in God, not men, and let God lead you. May he bless you richly. My prayers go with you.

There are actually some Mormons (although probably a very small percentage) who believe that Muhammad may have been a true prophet of God, but that his teachings were corrupted through apostasy, just like all the other prophets' teachings in ancient history. However, these Mormons find no need to follow Islam, because the fullness of the Gospel is found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Still, I don't think there is any harm in taking all the good from various religions and making them a part of your life. I have found most Muslims to be very good people, and I admire them a lot.

I've seen you struggling with this before. Well done for really trying to find the truth!

It seems to me, though, that it is pointless to try to find a religion or set of beliefs that concurs with what YOU think sounds nice. After all, there must be something that actually is the truth. That is, Jesus doesn't become the son of God (or not) just because lots of people believe it to be the case. If God is real and Jesus is real, then there must be an absolute truth: either he is the son of God, or he is a prophet or is he God incarnate...something is actually true!

So, if you believe there is a God, and you believe that you can communicate with Him through prayer, then do you believe that there would be some reason that He would not want you to know what is true? Or, could it be, that if you strip yourself of any "shoulds" or "I need it to be a certain way because..." or such things--that is, if you ask sincerely and REALLY want to know what is true, and are willing to align your life to what He answers, then ask Him! And keep learning and humbling yourself and asking until He tells you. Then, and only then, will you know what is right.

Otherwise, you will simply believe what feels most comfortable to you, or what the most persuasive or charismatic person convinces you of--and none of that would have any bearing on the truth, right?

Good luck to you!

You can certainly take what you want to out of both faiths. You probably can't be an active member of either if you take the portions you have selected.

Islam teaches that God is an immaterial being, and incapable of having a child. Mormonism teaches that he is a tangible being, and that Jesus is his Son. While many Christians also believe in an immaterial God, at a minimum they believe that Jesus Christ was his Son. That is a common ground that can't link Islam and Mormons. There are things in common so that bonds of partnership and love my exist with being 'rival religions'.

Since you seem so confused maybe the best person to ask might be a priest. Islam does not accept other faiths so you are either muslim or infidel. You need to do some research because if you choose Islam and later change your mind the penalty for apostasy in muslim countries is death. At the very least you would be ostracised and persecuted by the muslim community. Are you ready and willing to accept sharia religious law as a muslim? Talk to some priests, maybe the religion is less important than the comfort of the faith. I wish you peace.

JIHAD means struggle in Life. It doesn't mean Holy War.

Polygamy is allowed but not encouraged.

Muslims do not Worship anyone other than GOD, so if you worship Jesus then you are adding partners to him and that makes you not a Muslim.

You can respect anyone you want that's no problem.

You are right about us all being Children of God.

The only thing which you have listed which goes against Islam is WORSHIPPING Jesus because the basic belief in Islam is that we SHALL WORSHIP ONE GOD (which interestingly enough was what JESUS asked for also, he never asked to be worshipped). So if you're willing to Worship ONE GOD and accept Jesus and Muhammed as his Prophets then you're a Muslim.

I'm Mormon. Jesus said "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life; no man comes to the Father but by me." The primary tenet of the LDS faith (see Article of Faith 1) is to accept Jesus Christ as the divine son of God. If you don't, you cannot be Mormon.

Also, the cross is crucial. Jesus died on the cross for our sins. If you do not believe that your sins cannot be forgiven.

Sounds like you are Muslim, but want to be part of the LDS church for its community and social side. You can't have your cake and eat it. At some point you will be interviewed for a Temple recommend and the Bishop will ask whether you believe that Jesus is the son of God who died to save you, and you will have to say No.

Not really. Sure you can say whatever you want. I can believe that Santa Claus does exist and I can believe that he doesn't exist....however they're mutually exclusive beliefs.

Mormonism and Islam both have such beliefs. You can say whatever you want, however it probably won't be logical or make any sense.

Sounds like you need to either do some choosing or start your own church. You could call it the "Church of Jesus Christ and Allah of Latter-Day Saints & Infidels"

Why don't you ditch both religions, and just be a good person. Organised religions are the route of all evil. My dad asked me a question once. Who is better an Evil Christian, who goes to church every week, or a good law abiding atheist, who does good to his fellow man, but does not attend an organised church, or religion.I am not saying I am an atheist, I actually believe in God, but I seriously believe that religion will end all mankind, well before global warming, or any natural disaster.

Joseph Smith wasn't the only one to work out the angel Moroni - a minimum of four persons testified to having seen him, especially situations for my area and especially situations as communities. i for my area can no longer answer your question - i do no longer know if there are any reported situations of Muslims seeing angels. i've got not heard of one in each and every of those case, different than Muhammad himself. The Bible, of direction, is crammed with examples of angels being sent with a message. God has depended on heavenly messengers considering that Adam roamed the earth. there have been quite a few recorded cases the place angels regarded to human beings making waiting the way for Joseph Smith and the fix of the gospel and the church to the earth in the early 1800's. i ask your self if the different church has an identical boast. What church homes have been all started from angelic visitation or heaven sent revelation?
