I am a Christian respecting all religions alike. I exhort all my brethren to send one sentence Ramzan(this festival is over), Diwali, Christmas and other Greetings through E-mail to all their friends. This will be an effective step to rise beyond religion and spread feelings of brotherhood between all. Please act.

For those of you who find this offensive, please don't answer, just move along, and don't ruin it for everyone else that may want to know the answer to this question as well. In other words, if you don't like it, imagine you never saw it and find another question to answer. But anyone with the ability to explain this, please feel free to do so.

Why didn't God tell Abraham, Moses, David, or Jesus about original sin? Jews have always believed that everyone is born with a clean slate, why does christianity teach differently? Did God think that information wasn't important until Jesus came along?

I understand why Jews don't believe in original sin, I just don't understand why it is that Christians do. If you have to, take your time and ask your pastor this Sunday, I'll leave the question open until at least Monday night.

Have you ever keep a record of someone's sins to keep bringing them up as a history to vent your anger, Have your religion or church keep a record only to bring them up later as a trap to keep you in the religion?

In case you don't go to links, Dumbledore's GAY!!! *Gasp* There's no big deal in my book, but I know that most Christians (not all, but most) do not like Harry Potter because it, "promotes witchcraft" so I was wondering if this will be just another nail in the coffin for those Christians who think this way. Atheists, what do you feel about it? Other theists, your views? I find it funny as Hell, I don't care, I love the books and it won't deter me from reading them again. Just wondering what you guys felt about this.

Imprimatur is the Catholic Church’s official license for publication of a literary work. Actually it was exercised not only in publishing, but reading too. In my hostel life in a Catholic College there were restrictions even on reading News Magazines imparting knowledge. Even Bible except the New Testament was taboo in many hostels. Still students used to bring in stealthily those publications and read it, but hiding it from the Priestly wardens. Do you approve of such restrictions on freedom of expressions of thoughts by liberals and the reading public?

Please resist the temptation to answer, 'No, it makes him a trumpet'. This question is about the Jehovah's Witnesses interpretation of 1 Thessalonians 4:16, as 'proving' that Christ is actually the created archangel, Michael. I'm concerned about the lack of consistency they show, taking a few words out of one sentence and saying this is literal, but the following words are said to be symbolic. Surely if you treat the Bible this way, you can make it say anything you want it to say?

As if the Ten Commandments were't enough, Christians have added countless other sins to the list over the centuries and everyone has to avoid those sins or ... BUSTED!

If sin was retracted, like, if there was an announcement that humans had paid their debt to God and they were finally in the black as far as sin was concerned ... what "sins" are really too petty to you and you think you'd maybe let slide through once in a while, or even ALWAYS!

What sin is just not worth sweating over?

Actually, a "chocolate craving" bacteria was discovered in the stomach of chocolate-lovers, so it's actually the bacteria that craves chocolate - not you!

But, suppose a religion-craving bacteria were discovered, so it's the bacteria that thrives on the belief in a superior power, not you. Or suppose a religion-gene were discovered that makes some people religious and others atheists.

I think such a discovery would turn all religion on its head. In the case of a religion-bacteria, it would allow scientists to correctly reclassify religion as a disease. And in the case of a religion-gene, it would allow atheists to assert that belief in religion is beyond an individual's control ... and therefore the choice to believe in God was NOT due to free will.

It's well known on YA R&S that I have no love for Islam, although I wish only the best for Muslims. Here is an example of private messages sent to me, by someone who appears barely literate, and doesn't know me from Adam. Is this an example of Islamic tolerance? Muslims, I understand if you agree with this nut in principle, but do you think this is the best way to dialogue?

" Subject: lil biatttchh

Message: you wanna talk shet bout islam? do it in my face and not behind your keyboard you fckin ***** *** white boy "

And:

"u trailer trash, i live in northern california so if ur ne where near me let me know id love to beat you to a bloody pulp. talk is cheap white boy"

Does anybody wonder why the western world isn't buying the religion of peace propaganda?

When I die I will not be going to Heaven or Hell? as I do not believe in them anyway.

I know exactly where I will be going. I will be going to my own private little Island with the people I love. And pretend none of this ever happened (religion).

There will be no fighting or wars or anything like that. It will be peacefull forever.

What do you think of my little Garden of Eden?

Do you like it?

Tell my fellow Atheists what will you do when you die?

I want to see what your idea is about this?

The Strong Hebrew Dictionary states: From G318; to necessitate: - compel, constrain.

necessitate: 1. to make necessary or unavoidable. 2. to compel, oblige, or force.

(Luke 14:23) And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

Yes, I know people have asked this question before but the answers weren't really satisfying.

I asked the ouija if ghosts kill people and if they can be killed and it said yes to both but is unsure how.

I know these things kill people. The bell witch killed someone. Once this lady bought a house they said was haunted and they found her dead in a pile of blood which was not her own. Oh yeah and here in Australia in the outback there is an orb thing that almost killed someone. He managed to escape but they found one of the things earlier victims. He had not a mark on his body but his face was twisted.

if you're gonna say these things DON'T post:
1) Lose your imagination
2) Tell god/ a priest to banish it
3) Tell it to move on

We know that as Christians, many of us are open, loving and accepting of ALL kinds of people (You will never see ME condemn anyone in the name of Christianity, and that goes for most other Christians that I know personally). Yet, when we ask people why there is such a negative view of us Christians, we get ignorant answers such as "Because they are narrow minded, and without tolerance for any one than them self" (that is an actual quote from a user here)......my question is, am I the ONLY one who realizes what a hypocritical, judgemental statement that is? The person who SAID this is obviously just as narrow minded, right?
It frustrates me to NO END that I am called ignorant or conceited because I believe in something, yet the people who say that about MY religion seem to think that they should be allowed to get away with the same 'judgements" they claim to dislike Christians for

whether you believe in heaven or hell, it's just a hypothetical question. also, don't tell me it's impossible to enjoy hell, i just want you to imagine that this situation is true, and answer the question.

I am an agnostic. I used to think that I was a Christian when I was a little kid because I was taught that simply saying the prayer and doing the motions would "save" me. Bad experiences with overly-religious people etc. really turned me off and made me realize that I really didn't believe. Nevertheless, I still feel a deep longing to believe in a god of some sort. Were any of you atheist or agnostic like me and later came to be Christians? If so, what was it that persuaded you?
