Same way a major corporation needs a marketing department. How do you spread your message without publicity?

I'm not whoring out religion here, cause I'm Catholic, and I love God. I'm being serious. Preachers serve a two-fold purpose: to continue the church and to be leaders for their congregation and those that may become part of it.

God doesn't need preachers, God doesn't need anything.

People in the past needed the clergy, because most people couldn't read. However, with education becoming pretty much universal now, the clergy is no longer needed. What's stopping anyone from reading and studying on their own? Why rely upon another's interpretation of scripture? This creates laziness, because people listen to clergy and they don't read scripture 'cause they're letting the clergy do that for them.

You got it in reverse.

The preachers are sent to save the sinners. Thus it is mankind that needs the preachers knowing it or not.

Almighty God SENT Jesus.
In turn, Jesus recruited his 12 apostle,
They, in turn, preached to all the Jews.
And finally, the preaching was expanded to the Gentiles, starting with the Roman, Cornelius [ Acts ch. 10 ]

What did they preach?

(Matthew 24:14) And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.

if you are a preacher, be proud then. because God has chosen you as His partner. He never do His plans alone, He always wants us to be involved. and that is a good thing. although we all know that He alone can do whatever He wants to.

God doesn't need preachers. People need preachers.

Romans 10:15
And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Yet more evidence of the basic insanity at the heart of religion.

Why worship something that demands it? How could you possibly respect a being with infinite power and incredibly low self esteem.

I'd understand if he felt ashamed after all the disgusting things he was said to do in the bible but that's his problem.

I think we should just be grateful he doesn't exist. The fact that so many appear to need the slave mentality of holding such a monster in awe strikes me as something like an innate mental illness in the part of many human beings.
