A speech given by Red Jacket, or Sagoyewatha in 1805, in part.

"Brother, Continue to listen. You say that you are sent to instruct us how to worship the Great Spirit agreeable to his mind; and if we do not take hold of the religion which you White people teach, we shall be unhappy hereafter. You say that you are right and we are lost. How do we know this to be true? We understand that your religion is written in a book. If it was intended for us as well as you, why has not the Great Spirit given to us - and not only to us, but to our forefathers - the knowledge of that book, with the means of understanding it rightly?"

He mentions that these people were preaching to others ...
"If we find it does them good, makes them honest and less disposed to cheat Indians, we will consider again of what you have said."

We know what happened. What's different today?

A question was asked on whether or not Stalin & Pol Pot were athiest, most of the answers were yes, but it wasn't their athiesm that created the monsters they were (my words) but other issues they had.
Then people on the same question blame Hitlers problems on being raised Christian.... (surely it wasn't the sever beating from his step father, the strange relationship he had with his mother, just being raised with the the title Christian.)

what if the old God is dead ? The God of the old testament...what if He killed His old self on the cross...with and in Jesus...and rose again..washed of all his wrath and His memory of our sins ? What if he did this on purpose in order to be able to love us unconditionally and forever ? The scriptures say that " God was in Christ..reconciling the world to Himself.
totally dead to His old self and my old self ...in the Name....?

he sets you up to fail. How can you punish someone for doing something you knew they were gonna do? That's like holding a gun to someone's head, and saying "now if you die when I pull the trigger, I'm gonna punish you forever in the afterlife". How do you win that?
and this whole idea of "free will" is completely irrelevant to this question. free will doesnt exist when a God already knows what will happen

I'm seeking diligently in the word for answers to my problems. I'm trying to live by faith, I'm asking the lord for strength and I am in dire need of some direction for my life. ...I'm even hoping that God will at least have some pity or mercy for the efforts and trust that I put in him in by hanging in there as I am lately by mere faith alone. I am trusting that he will step in and help where I need him and that everything which is not okay will be okay. I'm let down by people, I'm displeased with the world I live in, I 'm discouraged by the lack love that I sense of the world and I'm concerned with the fact that the only peace, joy, relationships and interests that I have is of my own home and with the Lord. Somebody out there, please advise me. This computer is about the only connection that I have with the outside world besides attending a bible study now and then, church occasionally and a single neighbor that took four and a half years to allow a relationship with. Help!

Can anyone explain this in sociological terms? If you have been on this site for a while, you must have noticed that there are some people who ask pointed and thinly disguised insulting questions about Jews every day. Then there are those who ask questions that they must have seen had been asked upteen times already and then go ahead and ask them again i.e., why don't Jews accept Jesus as their savior? What is this all about?
