I'm seeking diligently in the word for answers to my problems. I'm trying to live by faith, I'm asking the lord for strength and I am in dire need of some direction for my life. ...I'm even hoping that God will at least have some pity or mercy for the efforts and trust that I put in him in by hanging in there as I am lately by mere faith alone. I am trusting that he will step in and help where I need him and that everything which is not okay will be okay. I'm let down by people, I'm displeased with the world I live in, I 'm discouraged by the lack love that I sense of the world and I'm concerned with the fact that the only peace, joy, relationships and interests that I have is of my own home and with the Lord. Somebody out there, please advise me. This computer is about the only connection that I have with the outside world besides attending a bible study now and then, church occasionally and a single neighbor that took four and a half years to allow a relationship with. Help!

I am wondering why you cannot get out more and be around people. Even if you attended some Church functions, that would be more healthy they an artificial relationship with us on the Internet.
Please look into counseling and get out to make friends, everyone needs fellowship.

One simple way that we might better appreciate that we can enjoy some measure of happiness now is to consider alternatives. Almost all of us can think of some tragedy that would lessen the happiness we have at this moment. That being so, it means that we do have a measure of happiness now, without such tragedies having happened. So, while we may not feel very happy about our condition in life, it helps us to realize that we are usually better off than we have imagined.

Appreciating what we have surely would include appreciating life itself. While you may have many problems that can be depressing, you still would rather be alive than dead, would you not? Only mentally unbalanced persons commit suicide. Yes, life is “sweet,” and we cling to it as long as we can.

The alternative to life is death, in which there is no enjoyment whatsoever. As the Bible says: “As for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all.” (Eccl. 9:5) That is why the preceding verse observes: “A live dog is better off than a dead lion.” (Eccl. 9:4) Being alive, and human, is far superior to being a rock, or a tree, or an animal—or dead. We can be happy that we are alive as humans, if we but take the time to reflect on it.

Too, with the right viewpoint, many of the simple things of life can give us added happiness. A pleasant sunny day is a delight. So is the natural creation, such as the trees, flowers, animals, mountains, rivers and lakes. Even in a crowded city, there are nice days that we can enjoy and pleasant areas that can be a source of refreshment.

Are you able to see? Some people cannot, being blind. Ask a blind person if he would be happy to get his sight back! Or shut your eyes for a while and try to carry on your daily functions. You will better appreciate how precious a gift your sight is.

The same is true with the senses of taste and smell. You may have eaten a certain favorite meal hundreds of times in your life, but when you smell it being prepared again, you are happy.

Yes, we are so constructed that we never tire of the really good things in life. If we would ‘count our blessings,’ we would appreciate them more and be happier.

It's a hard thing to see, but for some reason God is revealing to you how the world really is.
God uses circumstances in our lives to teach us truths we need to know. There may be some future event or person for which you need this lesson.
Ask God to help you make it. He promises to always be with you through the Holy Spirit.
Be thankful to Him for what you do have. There are some in the world who don't have even the family that you have.

Hang in there, He loves you dearly!

I take time to go into the mountains where there are no cars, or sex-machine lifestyle celebrities, and just smell the water in the breeze. I gaze at the beauty of the landscape.

I also go for bike rides and sometimes go through a cemetary. It is peaceful and the birds, wind chimes, flowers, and silence puts my soul at peace.

I listen to religious music on a sunny, quiet afternoon with the window open to let in the fresh air.

Basically, I let the true world of God speak to me and put me in the mood for thoughts. Try it. Pray, recieve communion, go to reconciliation as often as possible, and you may find a way.

God knows your thoughts. He is always listening and waiting.

Good luck and may God bless you.

There is no guarantee of personal happiness in this world. Christ even promised tribulation to those who would follow Him.

We are to seek the glory of God, the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.

Christ did promise a peace which passes all understanding that may be obtained by His own.

Our hope is in Him and His coming and the next world. In Him we are citizens of the Kingdom of God and this world is a dangerous country we are passing through.

Your help must come from the Lord and His provision. You'll not regret it.

Remember too that Paul said for him to live was Christ, to die was gain.

When all is said and done :

Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.
Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.
My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that! I know what it's like! You need to get into an emotional support group with some "safe" people who can help you heal. We need God but we also need people and as you know there are some out there that are not safe with our hearts!! When they hurts us, it makes us think that all people are bad but that isn't true. There are some good ones out there. Even though your natural tendency is to hide and retreat from people when you've been hurt, that will only exacerbate the problem. Its a sad truth but we live in a world full of disappointment and pain. We feel disconnected from the social norms of society. But as a christian we are suppose to be apart of the world but come out from among them and be separate. Not to distance ourselves but to be a light and pillar and hope and truth. Maybe the reason you are going through this is to help someone else that's going through it.

You are not the only one rowing that boat, brother. Count it all joy. Understand the time we are living in, and let your light shine brightly to those in the darkness.
Be glad in that which you have received from your heavenly Father, not that which you receive in this age.
Feel free to email me and stay in touch.

Edit: sorry, maybe that should be SISTER? LOL

A child is happy when he is with his mother and has nothing to worry about. We also are happy because we are with God who takes care of us all the time.
